found out im mostly european which i always suspected (i dont tan well and cant jump very high. i also enjoy friends and seinfeld). but i wasnt expecting the 10% indigenous(native american) or the 13% italian/greek, 10% british or the exact breakdown of my african ancestry. its cool to know but once i found out i really didnt have any more use for it lol. i dont regret spending the money tho.
Did you get any names?

Don't know if its worth doing for myself since I have my parents results. My dad's results showed 85% African with largest traces from area of Ivory Coast/Ghana, Cameroon, Congo, and 83% on my mom's side with largest traces from Benin/Togo, Southeastern Bantu, and Nigeria. I'll probably do it later this year just to see my exact results.

The palace is pretty nice. I have been there few times and Bamum history is very rich. They had a writing system, but Bamum schools were destroyed by French colonials.

That is the thing about the Arabs and the Europeans; they have really screwed up Africans knowledge of our societies.

I plan on visiting Cameroon in 2016 for the Ngouon Festival.

Here is some information on the 2014 festival in Cameroon for any fellow people of Bamoun descent.

Bamoun Cultural Festival (Ngouon 2014) in Foumban::: Discover Cameroon Tours.

Got notification last week that they received my specimen. Just have to play the waiting game for results. I believe ancestry is still doing a discount on their test.

Most of us AA are about 60-70 African, 20-30 European 5-10 other/Native American.

There aren't any pure AA including myself throughout the history of America there was mixing and there will continue to be. Nothing new under the sun.

Pretty lengthy report worth skimming through

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0002929714004765

and this supposedly done in conjunction with study at PSU

BlackDemographics.com | African American DNA

either way that number is too high, 25% is a more realistic ceiling..not necessarily the "average". most Africans Americans have 1% or less Native American DNA
