Revisited my results, update didn't help but i i have Mali, Benin, Togo ancestry for sure
They changed a lot except for my Mali, Benin/Togo and non African resultsHow much did they change?
I am starting to not believe them. I understand it's improvements as they go - but at this point - I really don't care.
I will say the Matches are getting crazy for me.
Just tried it. Great feature!Has any tried that new updated world map on 23andme yet? It allows you to link with over 1000 plus DNA relatives from almost every state(beware that some will be white of course) that you can compare your DNA results with, to see how you're connected. Its a pretty nice feature in my opinion. My 23andme results have also updated, specifically my African results. Instead of it saying I'm mostly west African like last time, this time it says I'm mostly Nigerian, Congolese, Senegambian/Guinean and Southern east African (Mozambique/Tanzania).

I noticed when I compared my results with other people that mines were more detailed and exact compared to theirs which I found strange. They had this feature before and discontinued it a couple of years ago. Not sure why they discontinued but it just links your DNA matches to their places of origins. It was really helpful when trying to connect dots based off of location. I have yet to get an update on my African percentages. Some people got updates almost like a year ago. I still haven't received any.

I'm 87% African but when I compared my results with someone that's 92% it was still the same thing, just indicating that they're mostly west African with some hunter gather mixed in.What is your total African percentage? I feel like people that are a bit more mixed up are a bit harder to pinpoint exact matches.
Yeah it says "not detected" for the West African when I look at my list. The only one they say has a possible match is for euro (UK match). I'm 84% African according to 23andme.Has any tried that new updated world map on 23andme yet? Are you trying to get African matches outside the US? Because I had no luck with that as well. The only matches I got outside the country were two people from the middle east, one man from England, a half Barbadian/AA girl in Barbados and a Panamanian guy.Yeah it says "not detected" for the West African when I look at my list. I'm just trying to see a more detailed breakdown of my African DNA. I've used other DNA tools tho so I was just hoping to see 23andme step up the breakdown but they still haven't. I don''t think people outside of the states use ancestry tests like that so it's rare to get matches from people who live abroad but the DNA relatives I do have, I see they have ancestry outside of the states. Like I got 5 cousins whose recent ancestors are from Cuba. Are you trying to get African matches outside the US? Because I had no luck with that as well.
