Are we sure that either she's not trolling or the kids weren't trolling? I'm seriously asking because i haven't encountered any Gen Z kids like this lol.

It’s accurate. But at the same time, I’ve got kids who have moved 3-5 times in the last year, even had a few who were staying in extended stay hotels. So I can understand that in certain circumstances.

I guess the problem is, how am I supposed to teach academic excellence, especially in AP classes, when the students are not prepared for the rigor?

I’m my regular classes, I call parents, they empathize, student acts ok for the next week then gets right back on bullshyt. I’m chunking material, giving them time in class to complete projects and some of them still fail because they would rather watch ESPN highlights or TikTok.

I started out the year with a no cell phone policy. One fukking student challenged it, and the administrators said that if I don’t see the phone I can’t ask for it. Never mind that if they have locs or a wig on and a hood on they can easily hide the EarPods and shyt.

We are not teaching here students accountability. You fail a test? Retake it. You fail a course? Take an online course and recoup the credit. While I’m not opposed to this at face value, these little shyts are manipulative and use the system against itself. So now they purposely skip test days, just to gets answers from others. It’s the second week of second quarter and some students already have 20-25 tardies and 10+ absences.

They’ve started suspending the licenses of those with chronic tardies and absences and what does that do? Put them at risk to go to jail because they are not going to stop driving. It’s a clusterfukk because I don’t want to contribute to the school to prison pipeline but students are abusing the lack of accountability.

Students not able to study because their fast food job violates Department of Labor laws and keep them at work until 10-10:30 pm. Parents smoking with their kids before school. Pregnant freshmen students and one senior young man in my class already has three children.

shyt is sad.

Not only the parent(s), but also fellow teachers and especially administrators. The last remaining area where male energy and discipline, the last arena of meritocracy left, is sports. And even that is being assailed like you wouldn't believe.

Respect due to the fellas who are toughing it out and have to jump through the hoops just to reach these children.
Maaaaan, you ain’t lying at all.

Im sure she has some valid points but by and large, I don't give a f*** about what she's talking about until teachers have accountability and a performance based retention. Teachers are allowed to fail and push students that they didn't teach off on the next teacher who will do the same all the way until they get to this teacher and she thinks it's everyone else's fault except her counterparts. In general, f*** them.

I didn't want to say it because it's not nice but as soon as I read it I thought, to tell us unprovoked your kids are slow is wild but whatever.
