Amerie is exactly where she should be.

Rich Harrison's production carried her for a few years, and the work was cool, but she ain't no superstar. She can't sing for sh*t. So her career was always going to be as limited as it was. This dude Timbaland said, "I would love to work with Amerie, but I kinda want someone that can sing". LOL!! She was trash, but she had production that could help her slide for like one album.

I'm not saying it pertains to this case, but a lot of times when you see an artist that's huge and then all of a sudden they are gone, more than likely they aint giving up the azz to executives. One of my favorite white girl pop singers Colbie Calliat had platinum albums and platinum singles(in the mp3 and cd buying era). She got engaged to her band mate and it was a wrap. All of that promotion stopped and it was over hahaha. And she still was releasing the same quality of music.

Without that style Dangerously In Love would have been a solo Destiny’s Child album. She named the album after a Destiny’s Child song for crying out loud.

This is not even remotely true and it needs to stop. You can just like Amerie without trying to attach her career to Beyoncè's. It ain't helping her move no units or become any more relevant.

As a matter of fact, you can look at the styling and performances from Amerie in 2005 and see how they were cribbing the Beyoncé formula. Her, Ashanti and couple other girls all of sudden went from girl next door types to glamour puss dancers. Bey sent shockwaves through the system and labels started scrambling.
