AMC was going the way of the dodo before all this, the fact of the matter with the right home setup, you don't ever really have to go to the movies. Unless its for the real big blockbuster movies.

them shyts still be packed when good movies come out. no different than since I can remember. where did this myth that they were dying come from?
Ticket sales have been declining every year since 2002. They may break records due to inflation but if you were going to the movies as much as I was in the late 90s early 2000s you know how packed it used to be. My local AMC used to have 3 concession stands running at the same time in different areas of the theater because they were so busy. Now 2 of them are gone. People used to go to the movies just to go to the movies. Not pick and choose a few select blockbusters every year.

Movie theaters are apart of american culture so I dont see it going anywhere but the prices are ridiculous to be honest. I catch the matinee showing most times.

If you have Marcus Theater or Movie Tavern close by they have $5 Tuesdays with free popcorn. They also have a discounted food menu if you becoame a reward member. Like chesseburger and fries for like $6.99.

NATO claims that Universal is a headace and no other studios be tripping like Universal. It is more to this story than the Trolls movie VOD release. People forget that Unversall own Fandango and Vudu. They are getting 80% of ticktet sales anyway. I know its some back end fooseboi shyt that Universal done did to make AMC and Regal to just say "fukk you" to them. But Universal might have the upper hand in this conflict anyway.

I ate off Movie pass, then off AMC's A-List. Needless to say, I love the theater experience. If movie theaters go extinct, I'll be among the mourners.:mjcry::mjcry:

Wasn’t sure where to ask this, but will these theaters reopen based on what each individual state does? If so, how can they play movies? shyt will have different release dates in different states?

I believe theaters are planning to reopen around July because that's when most of the country will be reopened

I like going to the movies and I feel like in 10 years we gone be on some "Ya'll remember going to the movies" type posts.
Theaters ain't going anywhere...

For a major blockbuster, no flat screen home setup can compare to a theater experience...

For a corny animated troll movie, yea you can stay home for that...

Theater prices will just go up to compensate...
