Pipe dream. This country's citizens don't have it in them to buck the system. If that was the case, it would've happened in the 80s when Reagan fukked blue collar workers. Great Resignation? Protests of George Floyd? Those happened in the last 2 years. Already, wages have increased dramatically and more job opening than ever before. WFH/hybrid schedule has become a thing.

I wonder how honest people are with themselves. If you are an employee for a company and field with opportunities and you claim you work hard, why is this not producing anything?

At my new job, after being here 1 year, was promoted and currently being trained to be promoted again. If you work an office job and show managers you can add value outside of doing the bare minimum, and let them know you want new/ additional responsibilities, you should see growth/results

A lot of people don't want to do that anymore. People don't want to work hard and be promoted. This is the generation that was rewarded for just participating. To them, doing the bare minimum should be enough.

I am no different myself, but I still actually try and have moved up, but don't want to keep moving. BUT I am also at a point financially where I don't have to move up. Most of gen Z are complaining while working retail or entry level jobs, they haven't even been in the job market long enough to be this jaded.

The problem will not go away. Since you have no idea what you're talking about I will give an example of what I was talking about. Highly Educated people all over the world that want to work especially brothers and sisters.

A fellow close friend and employee that used to work for me but started his own business said he had friends in Zimbabwe. Super educated people that have no work, but want to work. He said he has a whole bunch of cats that work. Said cool because I was trying to fill a few positions. So we found a few of the jobs in my company and his newly started company as well other places. These jobs were jobs nobody wanted because people didn't want to work. And not minimum wage jobs either.

Like I said productivity can't be stopped!

and hey, I get it. it's their life and only one life to live but everyone is eating off of the backs of people who put in real work 100-125ish years ago. The scale of work that it took to complete so may infrastructure projects will make most humans brains pop.

And the wild shyt is that the nerd of yesteryear are basically the same as the nerds of today that make this world that much more convenient to a point where it's taken for granted. Thats the big ass disconnect.

When a bunch of motherfukkas took 5-10 years building some shyt like the Golden Gate Bridge (and some dying in the process), there was at least some acknowledgement and appreciation for the shyt since back then you either knew people doing that stuff or YOU were the one doing it.
