I wonder how honest people are with themselves. If you are an employee for a company and field with opportunities and you claim you work hard, why is this not producing anything?

At my new job, after being here 1 year, was promoted and currently being trained to be promoted again. If you work an office job and show managers you can add value outside of doing the bare minimum, and let them know you want new/ additional responsibilities, you should see growth/results

:picard: I can see this mindset becoming common unfortunately, the suicide rates are sad
I'm really only here for my parents, like things could finally get good a year, 5 years, etc. for me, future wife could be the broad I'm linking with this Thursday, or the one I'm linking with this Friday, but at a certain point you get tired of the existential thread, seemingly perpetual setbacks, and general outlook for your people (black folk). If you're not going to have a family (black women wife prospects are tough atm), you aren't Mr. bytches, and you aren't born into money, there's a guaranteed amount of suck/struggle period in your life.

Once you make it through that 5-20 year period depending on circumstance, if there's no one to celebrate it with or you're one of the only people you know in that position in your race + age group, it's a bittersweet W.

Again if something gives sooner than later/before 35 I'll continue on but if I feel as empty/purposeless/angry/wistfully as I regularly do now. I'll get my affairs in order and see myself out. Same these bs jobs are played out so are bs/misery laden existences

You have to consider the finite number of those positions and the fact the majority of people in this country have a hard time critically thinking and being multifaceted in their skill set. Put those two variables together and you have a big country of people who aren’t educated at all into getting those opportunities and many people who simply won’t have that position

Yea. It’s an old rug pull scam. Then men get labeled not having “ambition”. Everyone can’t become a nuero surgeon going forward, and that’s how we get to eugenics. Some of these boomers gon be saying “if you can’t hack surgery and make 15million a year, then your genes are inferior, off to the camp with you. How ppl worked as custodians with homes and multiple kids and now you need 100k/yr if you really tryna raise a family and keep your wife?

Because it’s a designed rug pull. If women were really down like before, perhaps it could work, but women are incentivized to compete with the Jones’s and dip over finances. These aren’t righteous women and better off not marrying them. It’s all coming apart at the seams now.

People want you to be Tony Stark level of intelligence, while living in a studio apartment making 40k per year :snoop:

This is the same crowd who believes raising the min. wage won't result in the price of goods and services rising to match it. :martin:

I mean, worker unions kept the shareholders and execs in check. Back in the day, the average CEO only made 50 times amount of the average worker. Today, its nearly 1000 times the amount.

Its greed and transfer of wealth. Bottom line.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Thats why you'll see them opting out of parenthood altogether. They don't want to be miserable parents having to deny their children because the only jobs they can get even with degrees barely pay them enough to cover rent and essentials like food and electricity, internet+heat. Being a parent is hard, being a broke parent is hell.

Since boomers have hoarded their wealth for the most part, what you're about to see in the next 30-40 years is one of the greatest transfers of wealth in history as they age out and their assets go to their children or state if they die without heirs. That 28 year old living with his or her parents will stay there and offer to even pay rent or pay for their parents home care if they get old with health problems. They'll stick around till their parents die and then take over the house. This kind of thing is already happening in Asia.
Asia? I feel you my man… but this is happening in every culture and country BUT America.

Somewhere we got this dumb ass idea to kick your kids out at 18 and let them fend for themselves instead of buying property together and keeping it for generations

And you saw what execs w/ state and fed legislators did to those unions too right? You think power and those who benefit from it are going to just let it slip away?

Not wanting to be miserable at your job is "entitled" :mjlol:

Also, don't blame millennials and gen z...blame their parents who DID go to work at places that they hated and then had their kids watch them deal with depression, hypertension, early onset arthritis from setting in chairs to long, alcoholism from trying to cope with hating 8 to 10 hours of their lives 5 days a week, etc.

All these millennials and gen z'ers saw their parents deal with all that and have decided...nah, not going out like that.
Exactly, nikkas calling not wanting to be unhappy entitled:mjlol:

No, it has to be gained through COLLECTIVE effort. Sometimes from organized violence.
Pipe dream. This country's citizens don't have it in them to buck the system. If that was the case, it would've happened in the 80s when Reagan fukked blue collar workers. And this country can't come together to stop the spread of a disease. You honestly think they'd come together to rise against the machine? This country has gotten comfortable and doesn't give a fukk who starves. And no amount of organized violence will halt it, especially if you're not white. They stand to lose the most out of this

it's easy to have this attitude if ur living with your parents and have no responsibilities.

when u got kids and people that depend on you, u cannot adhere to this entitled mindset.
People are and should be entitled to happiness, unfortunately society has made that seem like a bad thing. No one should desire to spend their days working. Happiness should be the end goal for most people, whatever that means.
