I listened to a podcast today that said they think we are almost at the peak # of people that will be living on the earth.

I always thought the world was overpopulated. too many people competing for limited resources. I believe the world's population has gone from 3B to 8B in my lifetime alone which is crazy as hell.

Cost of living will go down when people have less kids. America's population went from 116 million in 1970 to 340 million in 2020

People still work in coal mines and factories. What are you talkin about

no shyt. but we have OSHA and regulations. in the 19th century, you worked like a mule in dangerous conditions and there were kids working as well. it's NOTHING like that now. at least not here in a first world country.

The way I came up the worst thing you could call a man, especially a black man, is lazy. Now grown men have no problem sitting on their asses while pointing fingers at other men that are out there being productive.
Wouldn’t be in this situation if we didn’t depeg from the gold standard

Alot of folk want to be in the same places at the same time and it's making living in these places unbearable if your pockets are light

We live in a big ass country and there's more than enough land for people to spread out and live comfortably without seeing your neighbor in their kitchen from your kitchen. These places aren't like Death Valley or some shyt like that.

People just don't want to live there.

And many people are too bytchmade to live anywhere that isn't a city with everything conveniently located for them to access. There's not food shortages but do you thing these bozos of today can even attempt to raise up and kill/butcher their own food? Prolly hundreds of YouTube videos explaining how to do that but they'd rather watch people dancing and doing pranks.

We're just in a bunch of wacky eras overlapping with no end in sight unless you start to reject whatever path has been laid. Thats gonna be tough for people who are used to 1 day prime, lightning fast wifi and uber eats.

breh, somehow and someway these motherfukkers will figure it out

this is the "share my Netflix login" generation that literally doesn't have shyt because they bottom feed off of the work of others, yet expect alot but put in lethargic effort -- despite having unprecedented access to knowledge for free.

Sucks but it's a sign of the times that will bite these folk in the ass when they age out and realize there's no safety net to land in.

They are all over the place...one minute they want to be off the grid, next it is being a floor above Drake's penthouse, or content living with senior citizen parents and sleeping in their Sponge Bob blankets....

the country is massive, but the vast majority of people live in cities.

not everyone can live in a rural area as there aren't enough work from home jobs for everyone. so to think that folks can just move out to the sticks and the housing crisis would be solved isn't true.

it's easy to have this attitude if ur living with your parents and have no responsibilities.

when u got kids and people that depend on you, u cannot adhere to this entitled mindset.

On the flipside those folks that have to work are flocking to less stressful positions even if it results in a paycut due to the burnout. This is happening throughout the government.

yep.

truly bytchmade.

and hey, I get it. it's their life and only one life to live but everyone is eating off of the backs of people who put in real work 100-125ish years ago. The scale of work that it took to complete so may infrastructure projects will make most humans brains pop.

And the wild shyt is that the nerd of yesteryear are basically the same as the nerds of today that make this world that much more convenient to a point where it's taken for granted. Thats the big ass disconnect.

When a bunch of motherfukkas took 5-10 years building some shyt like the Golden Gate Bridge (and some dying in the process), there was at least some acknowledgement and appreciation for the shyt since back then you either knew people doing that stuff or YOU were the one doing it.

No fukkin way you could come home after screwing oversized bolts into steel beams and your 20 year old son is there laying on his ass at home looking at you like "ewwwww Dad why are you so dirty?"

Things are going to get pretty crazy in the next few years. If millennial and gen z people are having these big moments of refusal to work and straight up walking out of the job theyll have to actually start listening to workers. 10 people shouldn't have more collective wealth than an entire state or country. But yet here we are.
if only there was a theory which predicted the collapse of late-stage capitalism as a transition point into a less socially exploitative economic system.
