Goldberg was bigger than Austin for a minute but he was on top like a year and was in and out after that for the next 3 years. Warrior has more legendary music, moments, feuds, promos, etc. He's more immortal. Now you can say Goldberg is bigger than Shawn because his 98 is bigger than Shawn's entire career.

thats why the comparison is accurate. warrior vs goldberg has the most common variables in a cross promotion comparison for guys with relatively short peaks

goldbergs theme music is pretty damn legendary too. comparing music is pretty damn subjective but both were clearly iconic. warrior is more immortal because of WWF and Wrestlemania. Goldberg's WWF run was more detrimental to legacy than Warrior's WCW run, not to mention everyone hated Lesnar v Goldberg. It was still a draw and booking can be blamed for that monstrosity and Goldberg's usage. He was very much over and ran through the Chamber but they had HHH go over. Whats new? BTW, Id shudder to think how bad a Warrior Lesnar match would be

Goldberg was the Warrior of his day, I have no problem conceding that.

But Warrior flew just a tad bit higher.

warrior going over PRIME GOOD GUY BABYFACE HOGAN is a bigger kayfabe achievment than Goldberg beating chickenshyt hollywood hogan in georgia

i agree. but if youre ignoring the hype and kayfabe achievement goldberg's win was its absurd. beat mega over hogan and was first undefeated world champion of all time. warrior also feuded with chickenshyt hollywood hogan and less people cared about that bullshyt than goldberg hogan. thats a time and place situation and wcw's lack of promoting skill and PPV acumen is not goldberg's fault. if that was promoted for starrcade what would the draw/buy rate have looked like instead of it being goldberg vs nash in a No DQ? it probably would have done 200-300k more than any other 1998 wcw ppv.

WCW shattered company records as 41,000 fans, by far the biggest crowd ever for a WCW show, packed the Georgia Dome. The promotion also set new marks for the largest gate in company history (36,506 paid for $906,338) and merchandise sales (more than $300,000). The crowd was the fourth-largest ever for pro wrestling in the United States, with the only bigger audiences for Wrestlemania III at the Pontiac Silverdome, Wrestlemania VIII at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis and the 1997 Royal Rumble at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. It also was the eighth-largest gate in U.S. history.

The Goldberg-Hogan title change was the first pro wrestling match to be seen in five million homes and drew the highest viewing total ever – 11.1 million – for a wrestling bout.

Fall Brawl 98 was Warriors PPV WCW debut vs Hogan...2nd lowest WCW buyrate of the year and lost on 97 fall brawl's number. :scust:

Lol..they'll say anything to justify their fake ass single minded perception of something that never was.

lol@Michaels vs Nash or Perfect....nobody has seen that bullshyt in 20 years and they don't want to.

Your view seems to be that Shawn Michaels was terrible and is not one of the all-time greats. That's by far the worst opinion that has been expressed in this thread.

i directly replied to you in the post immediately before, and replied to another poster. how did i take your name out? how slow are u?

warrior's name came up before i commented on warrior and i posted in here before just on macho vs hbk.

youre obviously a Warrior mark and goldberg is the most apt comparison. your feathers were going to get ruffled and you trying to grade warrior over goldberg would illuminate that more than anything else.

post #319. dont be a dikkhead.
and i gave you the benefit of the doubt and figured you just screwed up. that was until you pulled that other stunt. and now, you denying it is all the confirmation i need.

i dont mark for anybody. im a grown ass man. just because you take someone's side in a debate, it doesnt mean that youre a mark or a stan or whatever e-term you want to throw out there. and it certainly doesnt mean that i have a grudge against a wrestler who is often compared to them. you dont know my stance on goldberg. and you didnt even ask. instead you kept forcing him on me, and arguing me down about the guy when i never even mentioned him.

since we're throwing names out there.

heres a name that doesnt come up nearly as often as it should:

lex luger was bigger than shawn michaels, bret hart & john cena

yea. since i was forced into the goldberg thing, i guess i have to comment.

this post sums it up perfectly.

goldberg's run is just too incomplete to really put it up against the warrior's. he makes the warrior look like the funk brothers.

thats because the wwf nearly ruined luger's career.

.......and even then, he was still bigger than shawn michaels.

john cena really isnt big like that, like homie said earlier. luger carries a much bigger name.

you wanna know what's crazy about luger? he was still over in wcw during that 98-99 period when wrestlers like him were basically being phased out already.

in an era of shock wrestling, cool bad guys, new school slang, and provocative behavior... plain old dusty old luger was still getting pretty decent pops.

plus people really dug the torture rack. :ehh:
