Orton would be a good pickup for them credibility-wise to shake off some of the indie feel of AEW. The guy has been in cruise control for probably the last 10 years or so at least, though. He's entitled, lazy and one of the least interesting main event guys of all time. I personally don't care to see him in AEW, but as someone else said, he could probably be a major heel going against AEW's indie darlings.
I highly doubt they'll get AJ or Finn. I'd be interested in seeing Ambrose there and seeing how creative he can get, even if I haven't been a fan of his work for the last few years.

Yeah, aside from breaking up the indie feel, the main benefit of this is a business move. Anything that heats up the competitive aspect between WWE and AEW incentivizes them both to put out good shyt and makes the climate of wrestling more exciting.
Randy has been on cruise control for God knows how long, so if it's legit hopefully the change of scenery helps.

AEW needs names. Orton is a good look and everyone is forgetting the history with Cody. With actual sensical creative behind them they can craft a long and entertaining program. Orton wants to be a demonic heel and WWE legit won't let him.

Woud be interesting to see what they can do without restraints
Cody claims there wont be group of writers like wwe and the wrestlers will have more control of the stories theyre telling
So hopefully that means nonscripted promos
