They signed and agreed to them though. And considering that LU already lets a lot of their talent work other promotions now without any issue, it seems this is just talent forcibly trying to get out of their contracts completely.

It's kinda fukked up how so many wrestlers treat LU like their evil stepmom, for many of them LU made their careers.

To be fair, they signed those contracts at a time when Impact left Spike and AEW wasn't even a dream. Now WWE, AEW, and even ROH is spending big bucks they feel like they're missing out on a big payday.

AEW signing exclusive contracts seems to be pretty antithetical to what the Bucks (and Cody, I guess) are all about and what spurred this thing into existence in the first place. All In was a celebration of the indies as a whole, a Super Bowl of indie wrestling show. AEW signing people to contracts and getting top priority or outright taking talents away from companies that can't pay the same is going to be weird.

All In being all about indie stuff was hilarious. The main guys behind the concept weren't/aren't indie wrestlers since they were under contracts that didn't let them work anywhere but ROH & PWG in the US & ROH pretty much put the show on (they own the All In footage because of their involvement). Damn near everybody that was on the show was signed somewhere.

Clever marketing though which is what the Bucks are masters at :manny:

I get the impression that it started with Cody and them betting on themselves and putting their own money up for a PPV at first.

The bet paid off and got the attention of people who are putting money behind their dream, but that comes with creating a new business model together, rather than just keeping it the same. That comes with concessions and collaboration on both sides. It's probably not in the Khan's best interest to have their talent working for everyone.

Like how Issa Rae made the Awkward Black Girl web series to put herself on, but once HBO backed her they had to create a new product together, instead of just doing the exact same thing on a mainstream level.
