That’s kinda some bullshyt if they go back to Sears Centre though. SC isn’t public trans friendly for those of us who don’t drive. At least United Center and Allstate Arena are accessible for all: those who can go to Sears would go regardless of where the show’s at, whereas AEW are missing out on $$$ from those who can’t make it out there.
That being said, I do understand that Allstate is a WWE stronghold, Credit 1 and Winfield arenas both max out at 10k, and UC might be too big (though they could alter the capacity for this show).
Poor guy going to have his work cut out for him trying to have, the 2019 version of JR & the other guy with no experience besides the WWE Axxcess call a match gimmick, work out.
I would say it's probably likely that's what they're going to go with, maybe even just keep it on Youtube with their other stuff, because all that big talk about major TV stations and weekly shows went from "Weekly shows on the best network" to "Maybe we could run a show on TV every couple of weeks" to "We don't REALLY need TV" to just dropping any talk about it all together.
They're going to have to have a TV deal to start out. Netflix isn't and will never be an option, so either Hulu or Amazon would have to pony up for live content. In a couple of years they might be able to go to a streaming service and bypass TV all together, but for the short term at least they would have to have some sort of TV deal.
