Guess I'm sticking with my cloud uploads :francis:

I heard how they fukked with Ready to Die by replaying samples....fukk that :hubie:

I'm not the best to ask because one of my ears is fukked up but I haven't heard anything markedly different than the originals. If they have had to take anything out then I don't hear it. I haven't listened to every album all the way through but skipping through song tossing I would;d expect to hear something bigger than I'm getting

Changed my mind. Buhloon Mindstate is their best album.

For the OG’s is there a reason why Buhloon Mindstate didn’t fair as well as their past albums? I read an interview where the group said BM didn’t sell well and thats why they called the 4th album Stakes Is High because Lyor Cohen told them of it didn’t sell they might be done

Even though it's an absolute travesty that their work needed to be changed **at all** to come to streaming, I realize that as an owner of the oroginal 3 Feet High & Rising Vinyl the value has increased significantly I'd imagine.

Hearing that to clear all the samples on "Cool Breeze on the Rocks" would have cost them close to a milli

Not an OG, but in their recent GQ interview, the group mentioned that the industry wasn't supporting them as much compared to the first two albums, like they were being blackballed. 1993 was also the year a lot of rappers started following trends instead of setting them, and De La didn’t fit into that category. They apparently waited a long time to put the album yet because Tribe was finishing their album, then they had to step up their performances on tour to gain any kind of support.

I also found out Trugoy hated "Breakadawn" because he was in a bad place mentally and it felt like a song the group was being forced to make. Like if someone didn’t know who De La Soul was and they just heard about them, "Breakadawn" would be what they think they sound like.

I don't know the answer because honestly to me all their albums are timeless and I could make an argument why at least any of their first 7 are their best.

The balls they had to follow up 3 Feet High with De La Soul is Dead is like...I don't even have a good comparison. But then they went out & executed.

Lol I was the opposite. “Stakes is high” has been my favorite so long, but I spent a lot of time commuting to “De La Soul is dead”, yesterday, and now it’s my new favorite.

I was most excited to see some EP's and singles come to streaming in particular, A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays. All those mixes & skits takes me back to a faaaar more fun time in life.

Sad to see it wasnt included. Anyone happen to have a link or site I can hear it, cry & reminisce? I swear I searched the whole internet the best I could for it & nothing. Halp.
