that was a ugly fight to score
a lot o f the earlier rounds could have went either way
pederson jab and movement was ok during the first 4-5 rounds but it also looked like he was straight up running sometimes:yeshrug:
it didnt have a boxing lessson feel to it and his shots weren't super clean

in the 8th round or so on, pederson put it all together and was jabbing, moving, landing clean shots and making garcia look foolish, THAT was a boxing lesson

from a scoring aspect, it was either a draw or 7-5 pederson in my opinion

but honestly i don't know if the robbery word is fair in this fight

hard fight to score first half and pederson didnt do himself any favours

That's certainly true Lucas is like Ali compared to Swift (the fukking irony) but Lamont still appeared noticeably faster and more agile this fight.
Maybe he had to cut too hard to make 140
and wasn't able to fully recover, maybe he's just a better fighter now or at least this training camp/fight than he was against Matthyssee, who knows.
I will say one thing though

Lamonts got me believing again, hopefully he can keep at this level if not outright improve in his future fights

Lamont had admitted he worked with Adrien Broner in this camp a little bit:mjpls:

AW – What has your camp for this fight been like?

LP – We have a big camp, Adrien’s (Broner) camp came down for while but of course he had to fight so he had to leave. For the most part, I’m getting good sparring, we have a lot of guys from the area coming in, that’s helping me out. We’ve got good solid guys that fit the M.O. and we’re ready to go.

So from 8-12 u give it to pederson... that's 5 rounds... u telling me pederson didn't win a couple rounds earlier?.. I find that hard to believe, I mean he's not in there with floyd.

Peterson boxed good during the 1st 2 or 3 rounds, but somewhere in the 3rd and 4th his offense went down and Garcia started making the rounds closer even to the point where the one or two hard counters that Garcia would land would win the round just because Peterson wasn't be active enough.

Peterson won his rounds big and dominant while Swift won his rounds close and tactical, but he still won them.

Lamont started picking it up again in the 8th and 9th, but he ain't really start dominating until the 11th and 12th. He looked like he was on his way to a TKO during those rounds.

At the end of the day Swift's brand is damaged. He has 2 guys in his division that can say they were better than him on that given night. That's a problem if you plan on being a superstar in the sport.

This fight also also confirms what I've always said all along.... Floyd...Manny.....Bradley.....then Garcia and everybody else. Although Thurman is working is way to being where Bradley is.

Swift needs to rematch Peterson or Herrera.

Broner has always been cool with garcia and looked like he wasn't interested in fighting him but I bet after seeing him in there with peterson, who he is very good friends with wants to fukk him up.

:snoop: at Quillin with all his power and natural talent, not being able to do what Vera and Chavez jr did to Lee.

nikka can hurt you any time he wants, but he always ends up deciding to fight like it's a sparring session and he just going through the motions. Him and Swift have the same problem when it comes to consistent punch output and setting up power shots.

Guys like Tito and Tyson get shytted on for being one-dimensional, but they were great at that one dimension meanwhile guys like Quillin have only mastered a fraction of the dimension he's supposed to be good in. We saw some levels to this shyt last night.

Peterson is an excellent fighter, I have been praising his skills for some time....but he has the most horrible game plans in conjunction with his style out of any fighter out there. Last night is how he shouldve been fighting Matthysse. That's why many of us picked him to beat LM. I am not a fan of Hunter. Still, I dont believe this is necessarily an indictment as a bad trainer...but he certainly doesnt look like h has the pedigree with these game plans he puts together. Sometimes fighters need a change when they have been with the same trainer so long...they need to learn something new. That may not happen in this case since he is like their father. As soon as the fight started I mentioned it here. I didnt like what he was doing at all because he wasnt throwing. I cited the JMM-Gainer fight....which the HBO analysts said it was the most disgusting display up to that point by a champion and some even rumbled about Gainer's purse shouldve been held. The rounds where Peterson wasnt doing anything looked a lot worse than some of Gainer's rounds....because Gainer was trying to score.

For those saying Floyd does the same thing, nonsense. Floyd lands a high percentage of punches whether he throws a lot or otherwise. The Compubox says Peterson did land 50% of his power punches to 38% for Garcia....but Garcia threw and landed way more of them. Peterson said it was no robbery.

Just keep in mind, over the past decade or more....it has been very few fights that have been won by the person THROWING and LANDING the least amount of power punches, by a wide margin. I am not saying that is right because I think the jab when used right is boxing's best tool. I am just telling you what the pattern has been and what to expect from these judges.
This is what I was thinking. The "boxing" Peterson was doing was not what Mayweather (or Rigo) does. They can not be the aggressor, avoid your offense, yet still entirely get the better of you and control the pace of the fight. Peterson did a less effective version of Lara vs. Canelo. He totally avoided engaging and was moving around. With Danny being the aggressor in stalking and throwing more punches, and Danny landing equal to slightly more punches, I think Danny deserved most of the first part of the fight. It would not have take much for Lamont to steal those rounds clearly.
When the fight went toe to toe, Lamont was clearly the better fighter. A little more activity and setting his feet early on and Lamont would have nothing to complain about, he would have won easily visually and on the cards.

only rounds i think pederson won super clear were 8, 10, 11, and 12
9 could of easily went to garcia, he landed some big shots:yeshrug:

i could see the judges having garcia up as high as 5-2 after 7
pederson just wasn't being agressive enough in my opinion

i'd give it to pederson 7-5 but again, ugly fight to score until pederson started dominating late

If Broner comes in focused, he will make easy work of Danny. That's if Danny doesn't retool and work on his offense and attack at all. You can't be predictable fighting B level fighters man. You're gonna get tagged then frustrated, which will make you an easier target
