peterson waited too long to pressure him....the thing is, perterson is a pressure fighter at his best but hunter keep trying to make him a boxer....i dont get it,,,,
I thought the plan was great. Use your foot and hand speed and let Danny swing at the air. Later on, when he's showing signs of fatigue, put the pressure on.
I think the key early in the fight was not letting Garcia land that left hook. If he was going to land it, it would be late when he had nothing on it.

If it was true? I always believed that Adrien Broner would beat Danny Garcia if they ever fought anyways. Faster hand speed, better punching accuracy, better defense and reflexes, and AB can out box him

there are a lot of guys in here saying it was a close fight and that they gave Swift the edge, likewise with some of the people like Farhood. if you scan the net, its actually split. I would have to watch it again but I called it here from round 1 that Peterson was gonna lose by imploring that tactic at the beginning because he wasnt throwing/landing. its not ring generalship unless you are actually punching. Whitaker was a ring general because he would bury you under a pile of jabs while being avoided.
that wasnt the good Peterson early on, that was the one with a dumb game plan, a plan of a man showing too much respect to his opponent. when he tried to get close and pot-shot he was getting countered and Swift was putting together his punches. when Peterson stayed flatfooted and worked, that was him at his best because thats his style. he is a good inside fighter. this fight actually looked a lot like JMM-Gainer.
yall notice how Peterson didnt really have an upset demeanor right after the scorecards were read? he didnt throw his hands up and storm out the ring...even though he really couldve played it that way, even pretending? I wouldnt have had much of a problem with the last 2 cards going in Peterson's favor and I dont think the showboating hurt him either. I just think he fukked around in too many rounds instead of letting his hands go.

Peterson probably is the more deserving fighter. But as far as rounds scored, he didn't get robbed at all. He gave away at least the 1st 4 rounds by running not boxing. He wasn't landing shyt that could remotely be viewed as effective, and he was visibly running not boxing. Judges gonna give those rounds to the aggressive fighter trying to make the fight everytime. Now if you sticking and moving, that's a completely different thing.
He clearly won like 4 rounds and then there were rounds that was close by the time he actually started fighting. If he just fights from the gate, he wins this fight easy. Damn, I'm kind of saddened though how Danny is getting exposed out here.
