All I gotta say is that I'm vindicated brehs...I've said it that swift can't box...nikkas were telling me all types of shyt reasoning how swift actually beat herrera...now while I said lamont is a better boxer I didn't think his intangibles were enough to beat Swift..i was very wrong about that...khan and too sharp were on point...this fight is already downloaded to my hub ready to watch later while I eat brunch later

its wild the majority of us pretty though peterson was going to be the sacrificial lamb in this fight..now i am disgusted with how long peterson has kept that title due to politics..but that dude can fight and dude can be competitive at 147..i am fully convinced
swift though hes going to need a new trainer, dietician, or something in his camp..2 gifts with a BS fight sandwiched in between is not good for his brand..he's the perfect example of why boxers should really master their fundamentals rather than relying on physical gifts..right now he's food at 147 if he goes there

speaking of quillin and lee...if GGG is not making his case as the top middle in the sport.those 2 just added to it by proxy..lee has a one hitter quitter but his defense and durability are just average..lee lose that belt soon enough..quillin i have no idea where this cat is headed in his career whether at middle or operating at 168
i checked out after the spence fight to go watch salido-martinez....i had no idea they aired the other fights...gotdammit they need to change that shyt..those should be swing bouts at the top or middle of the card

First things first, I told nikkas that Peterson's best bet was to fight on the inside and pressure Danny, and whenever he did that he was kicking Swift's ass clearly, but whenever he boxed for too long, he'd get that work. With that said, it was a close fight that could have gone either way. I didn't see a robbery. I saw a guy in Lamont (who showed he was the overall better boxer) come on too late. He was boxing Danny's ears off early, but then let himself get outworked for most of the middle rounds and duration of the fight until the last 2 rounds where he stepped on the gas and took it to Swift.
End of the day, Lamont needed to start Pressuring Swift a lot earlier. If he would have done that he could have prolly won or gotten the KO. I had to defend this nikka Swift to my pops through text messages after the fight and my father in law called too and he also thought Peterson won. Fight could have been a draw too as well. Peterson won the event, but lost the fight. Definitely would like to see a rematch.
Lee and Quillin was the type of fight where both want to score a brutal KO, but nobody wants to work for it. I thought Quiillin could have edged it a lil, but the draw was a good call too. Neither guy tried to take the fight. At least Peterson did with Danny. These two nikkas just kept trying to land bombs and say fukk boxing or setting up your shots. You know how Pascal is a poor man's Roy. Quillin is like a poor man's Tito. He got the power and stalking, but none of the other shyt that made #TitoTitans great.
I didn't even read this thread since my earlier posts, but I already know some nikkas prolly had Swift losing 9 rounds to 3 or some shyt lop-sided shyt.

Peterson was landing the cleaner punches ALL NIGHT. I'm looking at Swiftset real funny right now because this was the same reason they(and I) scored it for Swift over Herrera. Here we have cleaner punches landed by PED while Danny wasn't landing shyt, no clinches to land shots like with Juvi just swinging at air all night, Lamont doesn't even look like he was in a fight tonight. nikka probably in the club right now popping bottles and scooping up hipster chicks while Danny whole grill on ice.
..i like this thread though..its stimulating the good kind of boxing conversation on here when fights of this nature happen..where there have been valid points on both side of the arguments

Peterson is an excellent fighter, I have been praising his skills for some time....but he has the most horrible game plans in conjunction with his style out of any fighter out there. Last night is how he shouldve been fighting Matthysse. That's why many of us picked him to beat LM. I am not a fan of Hunter. Still, I dont believe this is necessarily an indictment as a bad trainer...but he certainly doesnt look like h has the pedigree with these game plans he puts together. Sometimes fighters need a change when they have been with the same trainer so long...they need to learn something new. That may not happen in this case since he is like their father. As soon as the fight started I mentioned it here. I didnt like what he was doing at all because he wasnt throwing. I cited the JMM-Gainer fight....which the HBO analysts said it was the most disgusting display up to that point by a champion and some even rumbled about Gainer's purse shouldve been held. The rounds where Peterson wasnt doing anything looked a lot worse than some of Gainer's rounds....because Gainer was trying to score.
For those saying Floyd does the same thing, nonsense. Floyd lands a high percentage of punches whether he throws a lot or otherwise. The Compubox says Peterson did land 50% of his power punches to 38% for Garcia....but Garcia threw and landed way more of them. Peterson said it was no robbery.
Just keep in mind, over the past decade or more....it has been very few fights that have been won by the person THROWING and LANDING the least amount of power punches, by a wide margin. I am not saying that is right because I think the jab when used right is boxing's best tool. I am just telling you what the pattern has been and what to expect from these judges.

It's not breh. Neither guy won that many damn rounds. Fight could be a draw or 7 rounds to 5 either way. Similar to the Herrera fight.
Peterson needed 2 more rounds like the 11th and 12th in order to really say he took that fight. No way was this a robbery. Swift just got another close decision where he looked bad, but still did enough to make his case for winning. Dude is reaching Adamek and Glazkov levels of always winning close fights though. I'll say that though.

Taylor threw less punches but landed more overall. Taylor threw less PP's but landed more. The funny thing about this fight is, people said Cory was running....but Cory threw more PP's and more punches overall by a wide margin than Taylor.

You gotta remember breh, like Taylor, Swift had a lot of haters so nikkas tend to give their opponents the benefit of the doubt a lil too much sometimes. I had Taylor beating Spinks , but it was a boring close fight. He landed all the hard shots while never picking up the pace because whenever he did Spinks would start running/moving. Spinks didn't take enough risks to win that fight either. He thought his boxing and moving was enough, but it wasn't. He needed to fight like he did against Karmazin in order to win, but he wouldn't risk it due to Taylor's size and power.
If I recall, you had some haters saying Spinks was robbed too, but in the end nobody cared because the fight sucked anyways.
