:ehh:Easily the 3rd best entry in the franchise. I get the eye rolling at the call backs tho. But the movie was still a good watch. And lol at bruhs trying to convince themselves that Prometheus and Covenant were good lol.

I’m a huge aliens fan and this was pretty good. I thought it started off dumb but then it picked up. I just miss the days of strong leading man characters. Aliens was great ripley was great but they still had all those badass marine guys they could still do that type of stuff today. Everything today is weak men and strong women characters but the women are all young and small. Ripley is one of the best heroes in movie history.

I mean the marines talked tough lol. I still love alien 1-3, but watching Aliens as an adult, plus having been in line units, the marines were a joke lol.

They used terminology incorrectly and out of context. They couldn’t really communicate outside of panicked screaming. They were completely disorganized. They unnecessarily positioned themselves in way that completely negated the weapons they carried, before the shooting even started. They didn’t pay attention to any of their surroundings as they entered… Basically approached that mission like drunken air-softers, ridiculous tough talk and all lol.

It was cool watching as a kid though.

Prometheus and Covenant tried shyt, and while each had really dumb shyt, they both looked great for the most part (Covenant had some shoddy cgi to be fair) this was good, but just felt like a little comic book add-on to the series.

They wouldn’t have been so bad if Ridley simplified some of the changes and actually fleshed them out/let them play out. He kept jumping from idea to idea before they could even hold some weight. If he wanted to remove the mystery from the xenomorphs and define the space jockeys he could have done it without the movies feeling like Jurassic Park spin offs.

Covenant started strong then did the same wishy washy idea stuff that Prometheus did. I would have wanted to see what Neill Blomkamp had to offer.

shyts were just glossy for nothing. Like putting baby oil on a lifelong dope fiend then putting her on the cover of King magazine.

It's cool as an adult too. :stopitslime: And Cameron made them that way purposely. And that's also one of the reasons we love those characters. They weren't just faceless generic soldiers like most of the sequels and other sci fi movies. You actually grew fond of them and wanted them all to live. They didn't actually expect to fight a horde of aliens and when they came face to face they didn't know what to do.

They were kind of a rag tag group as is. And it's a movie, a Sci fi horror film at that. A lot of these so called real military movies aren't realistic either so not sure why we would expect that from this film.

Franchise is creatively DEAD and this was just the Force Awakens version of Alien :yeshrug:

The best thing about the movie was the knockoff Damson Idris.

Outside of that it's simply a competent 6/10 Alien movie that was low on the goofyness :manny:
Literally this,

Visuals are awesome but the story was garbage, i couldn't rout for the main character, her friends, etc
If anything I was routing for the corporation, the chip was helping the android navigate through tough situations but none of the characters wanted to listen,

shyt was 4/10 for me, hell promethus had better premise than this....
