I love the Alien movie franchise but I always thought the games was trash, mind you I never played them but the games based these on movies never got any buzz.

I'm on the fence about this game (or at least about buying it at release). people saying it's 'too long' kind of concerns me. 15-20 hours does seem like a little much for a horror game

nikka gave it a 5.9 because it was hard for him and the story drug on for a little to long
IGN just lost what credibility it had to me

The fact that the campaign is purportedly lengthy is a huge plus for me.
So long as the story remains interesting? The longer, the better, imo.
Pretty much why Dragon Age is a day one purchase.
I may be enticed to add this one to my library based upon player reviews and gameplay footage.

On that note, there's really no excuse for things like this still being in these types of games.

Some areas contain both alien and non-alien dangers. These often cause the most trouble because you’re having to track two sets of threats that behave quite differently. They’re also the cause of one of the game’s most disappointing elements because the tension is somewhat interrupted when you realise that the group of shouting humans, searching the corridors for you with their revolvers drawn, often seem not to attract the attention of the alien that can apparently hear you breathing from inside a locker.

Sometimes it hears you breathing, sees you, won't see you, will pretend to NOT see you only to jump out just and kill you when you think it's left, respond to loud noises, not respond to loud noises, it might hear you radar if it's too close, etc.


I'm still gonna cop it though. Sounds crazy as hell... fukk IGN.
