People won't like this but, I don't mind non-black descendants benefiting from reparations, as every single Afram/ADOS will benefit regardless. This is about lineage so as far as I'm concerned, if you're descended from an African slave that was here in the U.S., it's whatever. :manny:

Well I do mind. This is about this is about this country using the power of government to abuse and exploit an unpaid paid work force for hundreds of years and then even after slavery ended; there were laws imposed to deprive African Americans of life, liberty and the right to the pursuit of happiness. That is not even addressing the hundreds of years State sanctioned domestic terrorism, which included the rape of African American women and torture/murder and false imprisonment of countless African American men. Nor does it include the fact that millions of African Americans were forced to toil for free even though they were no longer slaves (see the history of forced sharecropping) in this country; and the laws that were made to prevent them from owning business; getting an education; having free assembly or even owning real property.

Mind you now all of that shyt was State sanctioned for hundreds of years; so that does not even include the millions of private efforts of individuals to bring about a harm to African Americans. So yes I do mind. Immigrants have citizenship. That what they wanted. African Americans are owed a financial debt, not only for the labor, but also for things that were taken away from them (aka stolen) due to being African American (look up the history of how African Americans were stripped of their land right here in the USA).

I bet the fugg that people were not claiming to be African American when blood was being spilled, so they should not be allowed to benefit for a harm done to others. I would not be seeking reparations for shyt that happened in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, China, Jamaica, Nigeria, India, Congo, Haiti or Brazil. So why on Earth should they be allowed to seek reparation to address things that happened here?

So you know that would mean that the benefits would be watered down to damn near nothing for actual AA right? That's cool with you?

That’s why you limit the qualification by date and not something arbitrary like DNA. If you have Black family in your direct lineage who were considered “Black” or “African-American” or any other synonym prior to 1968 when the Civil Rights Act and Immigration and Nationality act were passed you are qualified. Anyone whose records here start after that date cannot qualify no matter what their DNA shows.

This us not rocket science. Being descended from slaves is not enough. When or if reparations happen, you need to be over a certain threshold DNA wise to be included and you need to be ADOS. If you from the islands or Africa, you’re not included. You need to take your grievances up with your country of origin as your ancestors were enslaved in a different country than ours. Back to the first point. Native American tribes don’t give a fukk if you had an NA relative 11 generations ago. You ain’t Native American at that point. Elizabeth Warren ass nikkas. Be upset with your ancestors for fukking your blackness away.

Are you referring to Canadians? Even the ones who escaped along the underground railroad with Harriet Tubman and never came back?

So Harriet Tubman's descendents are not AADOS?(she never moved back to America)

Google is readily available

Canary Islands descendents

I see the logic, but what if most of your ancestors went through slavery in America even though you reside in AADOS communities in Nova Scotia, Ontario, or British Columbia or Liberia. Some of the previously mentioned have moved to America and gotten status. I'm just curious as to where they fit in as they carry the signature dna, but grew up/live in another country.

If raparations come to pass then a lot if not most of the benefits will come in the form of social welfare programs. How are people living in another country suppose to benefit from that? Plus, I think the agenda should be to better the community not just line pockets. I would give special citizenship status to those people but I you should be a citizen

An olive branch extended to Nova Scotians is not out of order:manny:

I aint about to hand mfs my DNA, nor do I advise any AA to.:hubie:

if you got your shyt recorded u can use that, plus I think there are those family tracking sites that dont require you to hand over your spit.

Im straight up AA, and my family on both sides have things recorded of where we come from

im good on those requirements to qualify as ADOS and reparations

You do know there is an AA owner private company that already does this

Sounds to me like shes admitting that shes got some black ancestry (unlike a lot of "latinos" who are clearly mixed but refuse to admit it ) but also is cognizant that she cant claim to be black as she obviously doesn't look black.
