I'm still bugging how Trip could sweat Cam when he looking at what Cam did using his eye test, only to have Football Outsiders shape his opinion that Cam's season was overrated and call it his own.

I wonder what motivated that change of heart?

:yeshrug:

He's one of THOSE cats.

nah progressively through the season my opinion was changing a bit...his best two games were the first two of the season

I still think he's going to be good. I don't know why you're still on this though.

I hope he and the other guys are fully recovered from injuries next season so we won't have to use the defense as an excuse
me too I know Coach Ron Rivera said he's going to be more hands on with the D his season year. I hope Beason, Luke Kuechly, Anderson and Thomas Davis could be a great LB core if healthy. Just need a pass rusher to step up and a starter opposite Chris Gamble im thinking it's going to be Brandon Hogan.

Willis should put Beason in his place, tell him if PAnthers D wasn't so ass Cam wouldn't have had to put up those numbers in the first place.

But the point is, that he did. And your clown QB tried to shyt on him.

The funny thing is, Alex wasn't directing any of this towards Cam.

This was obviously reporters coming at him about his yards per game.

What he said was true, and i've never seen so many people so butthurt about a player who isn't even on their team.

Why would you ride so hard for a guy who isn't even on your squad.

And to be clear, I think Cam is great, but Alex was 100% right here. Yards don't mean anything if you lose games. If Alex mentioned Kyle Orton with Denver a few years back, no one would react and be so offended.

Yet every 3rd post is CAC type shyt. I get it.

He mentioned CAm's name. How could he NOT be directing it at Cam?

:what:

This was obviously reporters coming at him about his yards per game.

And he couldn't have POSSIBLY responded minus using Cam's name, right?

What he said was true, and i've never seen so many people so butthurt about a player who isn't even on their team.

Here is where you turn a genuine discussion to the manufactured behavior traits of people discussing this. It's a tired posture on your part.

Why would you ride so hard for a guy who isn't even on your squad.

The same way one should ask why you would ride so hard for a team YOU don't even play for.

And to be clear, I think Cam is great, but Alex was 100% right here. Yards don't mean anything if you lose games.

Ok....so CAM loses games while Alex....NOT THE DEFENSE wins them?

:what:
If Alex mentioned Kyle Orton with Denver a few years back, no one would react and be so offended.

Of course not. There's not upside and future in Kyle Orton. Cam has only had one year under his belt and the skies the limit. And here is Alex using him out of all people to make a point?

:what:

Yet every 3rd post is CAC type shyt. I get it.

Let that be your crutch.

if he would've said this shyt about Rivers or Romo or someone this thread would be 2 pages long. The Cam "love" is strong in here :yeshrug:

The thing is, we KNOW Alex wouldn't say that about Rivers or Romo.

I think that's part of the point. He know who he chose to speak on.

A kid with 16 NFL games under his belt. :laff:

I'm missing the part where anybody is saying Alex Smith is wrong about what he said.

Alex Smith's career up until last year was less than desirable, but I guarantee you Cam Newton would give up all the passing yards and records he had last year to be where Alex Smith was at the end of the season. That's not to say Alex is better than Cam, but winning is better than losing, and if you're throwing < 300 yards a game and winning, everybody in the world would take that over > 300 yards and losing.

Carolina's problem is they have no defense; If they get that handled, they're gonna be serious. Until then...:umad:

He is wrong though. The Panthers weren't getting blown out. They were in most games in the 4th quarter.

But not only that, if his analysis was correct then how sorry is he calling himself? His teams were losing and he couldn't produce half of what Cam was doing. So he clowned himself.

Bottom line is, TEAM success or not, Alex Smith is in no position to try to discredit anyone. He fukking sucks. One decent season and a stupid ass comment won't make us forget that.

Alex has weapons this year too so he better put up or sit the fukk down.
