This and Spider-Man back to back

this actually looks really cool, i think they are making a mistake dropping it along side spider-man 2 cause i would 100% buy it otherwise. Combine that with no physicals, Epic Game Store exclusive, etc.

Not really sure what the thinking behind this is

when this was first announced at the last game awards i thought “yeah right, this shyt definitely aint coming out in 2023” and low and behold it looks like its been content complete for a while. I’m liking this new trend, no major delays this year either.

Alan Wake 2's game length sits at around 20 hours to complete, according to a recent interview with Remedy Entertainment. It will also feature a more physically fit Alan that's "in a bit better shape" than the previous game, which could improve how he dodges attacks in the sequel.
With the two intertwined campaigns, can you discuss roughly how long Alan Wake 2 will take to complete?

Lake: It depends on your skills, but currently (and the game is not quite done yet because a lot of the content is still going in), we're looking at over 20 hours.

I logged into The Coli.com. The forum had remained relatively the same since it's inception: A cesspool of console wars and dikkriding. Ducks, monsters, and titans all stalked its servers, all racing to post the next shred of information that would make Microsoft or Sony look bad.

I couldn't remember when or how I began posting myself, but the allure of the trolling and slander had a mysterious appeal toward the darkness festering inside of me. After all, I was a writer.

Somehow I believed that if I could harness the dark energy manifested by this hellsite, I could become a conduit of sorts, and channel it for my own utility, instead of relying on the light that The Coli sought to dim. Only time would tell.

(IGN) Alan Wake 2: The First Preview | #gamescom2023

• Damage enemy shields with your flashlight, then hit them with bullets

• Remedy have opted for fewer, beefier enemies rather than the wave based combat from AW1

• The Dark Place is described as "Metroid-like" with secrets, optional puzzles, and shortcuts to unlock.

• The Writer's Room is a sort of 3D menu where Alan can recap old info, begin new missions, and rewrite old locations.

• Environmental puzzles; Absorb energy from light sources with your lamp and move it somewhere else. The newly lit area will instantly warp into a completely different area.

• This means Alan can literally change the layout of the world as he explores. Writer compares it to Effect and Cause from Titanfall 2.

• Saga's gameplay looks more like traditional Alan Wake, while Alan's is weirder and more like Control

• "A genuine graphical and artistic powerhouse."

I hope Remedy still working on those Max Payne remakes...
Pretty sure they still are. Wouldn't be surprised if thats part of the reason why they scanned Sam Lake into AW2, to test shyt. Remakes probably gonna be in this engine.

Sounds like less combat than AW1 and Control. More focus on puzzle? solving, horror and unraveling the narrative.
