There's nothing bogus about the title, overall charter schools are more likely to fail.
and also charter schools perform better and i already said schools that fail should be closed
There's nothing bogus about the title, overall charter schools are more likely to fail.
For starters, charter schools fail and close at an alarming rate.
One of every five has failed to keep its doors open.
And last year charter schools accounted for nearly 50 percent of the state's F-rated schools, even though they accounted for only 11 percent of the total public schools.
Put another way: Charter schools were seven times more likely to fail.
and also charter schools perform better and i already said schools that fail should be closed
You said "we shouldn't pour money into a failed system. Any way you cut it charter schools are a failed system. Some individual schools outperform public schools, but overall the idea of charter schools fails students all over the country.
Here try this article it explains what's going on a little better.
Scott Maxwell: The truth about charter schools in Florida ugly, inspiring, complicated - Orlando Sentinel
you just posted a story that said charter schools perform better
SOME of them perform better. MOST kids can't get into those better schools. MORE kids are effected negatively by charter schools than positively. And charter schools are 7 times more likely to fail than public schools.
i dont think you seem to get that closing failing schools is a good thing
Wasting money on schools that will close then sending the kids back to underfunded schools is a horrible thing, and is a risk that's not worth the marginal reward of some charter schools performing better.
The goal is to get more kids educated and out of poverty, not to get better tests scores. The Charter school system overwhelming fails at that goal.
i never said anything about sending kids to underfunded schools, that is your idea, i said we should expand charter schools which according to your story perform better
i said the schools that fail should be closed, you said schools that fail should be given more money so they can fail some more
you can't just run around funding and closing schools. Money is limited and that's more waistful than trying to fix the schools that are open. The students that end up in the schools that fail end up loosing years of their life. Then when they have to be assembled back into the public schools ALL the students suffer.
Again if we had enough money to close all public schools and open enough charters to house ALL children, then we'd have enough money to fix the public schools.
again, money is not the issue, more money isnt going to fix a school and you do not need more money to open up charter schools
again charter schools perform better than public schools, the ones that dont are closed, there is no reason why that cant be done, that is what is being done already
well how do you open them?
And you keep ignoring the effects that closing schools has on the kids.
WTF did he think was gonna happen? And he wanted TO allow schools to choose who they wanted? Allowing schools to choose some students while not others is THE VERY FUKIN DEFINITION of seperate but equal.
You know damn well 'richer" schools weren't letting Tyrone and Paco in.
LOL @ NOT wanting a brain drain
LOL @ NOT wanting sports schools
LOL @ NOT wanting problem children herded into bad schools.
The fuk did he think was gonna happen with this law? What's sad is giving SCHOOLS the choice on who they get would have only made the problem worse.
