Really?? You should take your kids out of charter school and put them back in public school if that is how you feel. :what:

Leave those spots open for people who will actually appreciate it. Why did you put your kids into a charter school anyway? :stopitslime:

Anyone who has Amazon Prime can watch this documentary called The Lottery for free. It is the most heartbreaking documentary I have ever seen in my life. I cried in the end. It follows NY families who are trying to get their kids into charter schools. You should have seen the face of those kids who didn't get in, they cried. People don't understand that your best hope for your child is that they get a great education. That is very hard after 12 years in an inner city school.

My daughter goes to an inner city school and trust me, I put her on IXL.com all the time because her homework is dumb easy. She is an honor roll and super honor roll student, but I tell her that being an honor roll student here is not the same as being an honor roll student in the suburbs. I have to constantly push her to do higher level work at home, because the level of work they give her is .

So yeah, please take your children out of the charter school, because you clearly do not appreciate that they don't have to deal with the crazies in public school.
Shouldn't the sentence in bold be considered a problem then ?

If America is supposedly built on providing equality then why should
an inner city kid that's bright have to apply to a charter school to get
equal education to a kid in public school in the burbs ? Or even worse PAY (private school) for an equal education when he/she likely can't afford to be competitive ?

No ones stops and says "These kids are getting the shaft" :mindblown:

But instead they say "Pookie shouldn't and will not get the same chance
as Brandon and Kyle,Tough Luck !"

I think the idea of a Charter school is great but if our public school
system is that far gone we ought to fix that first, shouldn't a charter school or private school be an "option" not a necessity ?

I see what you are saying.

Today education is so sub-standard that even in good schools you have to do a lot of outside work if you want your child to keep up with the changing pace of the world.

For example, computer programming isn't taught even in the some of the good schools. So, almost everywhere you go there will be deficiencies in the education.

Some parents may value athletics, arts, academics, or sciences. It's kinda rare for a school to be great at all of those. So parents will have to make up for what the school doesn't offer/isn't good at or let the child go without.

At the end of the day, school isn't going to do everything. However, I agree that all kids should be able to have a good school to attend.
