Above the fray.
he didnt say anything disresctul.
Nah, he did. Telling other groups of people to "get over" a system that technically only ended in the 1960s is disrespectful as hell.
Slavery and neoslavery lasted from the time enslaved got here until AFTER Senegal became independent and free from colonization.
fukk Akon, he is out of pocket with that comment.

How many times must i refute this lie? There is no red carpet. They're simply inviting us to INVEST, just like everybody else. :coffee:

That’s what I said. :snoop: The whole point of investment is mutual benefit.

And no, no one else is inviting African Americans specifically to invest.

My great-grandfather was a sharecropper and the son of former slaves. He worked from that to becoming a carpenter, moving to California and buying a house. He had a 3rd grade education.

When he died (in the early 90s) he was a millionaire.

Now I’ve had it up to here with y’all telling me about slavery and how you can’t make something of yourself whether in America or Africa. Opportunities are everywhere.

Stop the constant excuses. It’s weak and not cute

It is not, nor has it ever been an EITHER/OR situation.
As in either you remember slavery, or you bust your ass to succeed.

His comments make that assumption.

I applaud and salute the spirit and determination of your ancestor to succeed and create wealth for his family.

There have been and continue to be successful AAs here AND who teach their children their full documented history, including chattel slavery period. The same way that you were taught about the neo-slavery system of sharecropping that your ancestor endured or overcame.

People here already know that my family is not from here, but Akon's comment was disrespectful and offensive to me as a Black man.

fukk him.

:why: Asking for our money is not a "red carpet." It's what every county does in a globalist system.

Further, considering globalism, those of us with 401ks or who invest in funds are porobably already invested in Africa, no special invitation required.

From a recent thread of yours where everyone said my personal experience didn't matter because it was anecdotal

The stats say different story, jack :manny:

Median wealth of black Americans 'will fall to zero by 2053', warns new report

No it not what every country does.

What other countries are hosting special events specifically for African Americans to come to their countries to live and invest?

You guys are pathetic. Now I completely understand what Akon said.
