"Just as Socrates felt that it was necessary to create a tension in the mind so that individuals could rise from the bondage of myths and half-truths to the unfettered realm of creative analysis and objective appraisal, so must we see the need for nonviolent gadflies to create the kind of tension in society that will help men rise from the dark depths of prejudice and racism to majestic heights of understanding and brotherhood."

I'm gonna go ahead and assume you're trolling or don't read much. Using the tired "cac" card, move on fella, you're just looking like a rerun of 2013 in the coli.
That says nothing like what akon said u stupid ass honky:mjlol:

i'd suggest watching in its entirety.

The title conflates what Akon said he was speaking specifically about the Senegalese people only thinking about it during tours of the country.

Vlad loves clickbait titles to create division.

watch the whole video.

The Year of Return, Ghana 2019 is an initiative of the government of Ghana along with U.S. based, The Adinkra Group, that is intended to encourage African diasporans to come to Africa (specifically Ghana) to settle and invest in the continent.

Year of Return, Ghana 2019 - Wikipedia

I looked it up, just to make sure i ain't miss nothing. I got excited for a minute, but alas...

Beyond the Return, The Diaspora Initiative is the succeeding initiative to the Year of Return by the Government of Ghana not only to promote tourism and home coming of Africans and Ghanaians in the diasporas but to foster economic relations and investments from the diaspora in Africa and Ghana.

Since the initiative is to foster economic relations, an investment account has been created named the "Sankofa Account". :bryan:The account is for Africans living in abroad who want to invest in the country's economy.[9]

Beyond the Return - Wikipedia

How many times must i refute this lie? There is no red carpet. They're simply inviting us to INVEST, just like everybody else. :coffee:

I didn't watch the video. Not sure if it's clickbait or not. But on behalf of the senegalese people I already would like to apologize. Dividing Africa and it's diaspora has been a tactic used for centuries. Let's not fall for it again.

There is already a natural divide though so its not much to fall for. Even if he said that personally that doesn't reflect on everybody so I don't get what the fukk you're apologizing for unless you feel the same way.

Anybody who would take a single person's comments to represent a nationality or a continent's views is a pure clown.

Akon said those comments, and is responsible for what HE said.

People running any other way from watching this video are hypocrites and will sing another tune when a celeb from THEIR culture speaks out of turn or makes an idiotic comment.

And that's a fact. Happens here all the time.

But when Africans say "get over it" but you still have Igbo and Hausa looking sideways at each other or Xhosa and Zulu etc.?

The rich only help their families...not even other rich people in Africa. Telling us to get over our division when they can't even do the same DESPITE being the majority....never made sense to me.

If we were quitters, we'd still be slaves. Hell the British would have won if we all decided to fight for King George III. It's like they don't understand that our history and blood is woven into America's fabric. We aren't AND weren't passive observers. Not sure many foreigners realize that. Active participants then AND now.
