"is this nikka wearing a dress"
When home sizzle first came on the scene we was all
Swag- check
Street Background/hometown - Harlem
Flow - On point
Crew? - Them ASAP dudes look like some cool young nikkas -
But as time went on, we slowly started to realize..."ayo, wtf this nikka even rapping bout" ,
"wassup with all this fashionista bullshyt?"
"Why homie sound so empty in them interviews"
"is this nikka wearing a dress"
And now, even though he has gotten little bit better as artist, we have all seen through the gimmick, the extravagant beats, the flash and lights n fancy effects. The music is aight, but its empty as fukk.
To a degree same thing happened to this guy too
Uhh no. Keef had about 20 videos on youtube before don't like.
I remember @FreshAIG was posting about Shmurda before that shyt took off.
I remember Drake on random Wanye mixtapes in 08 and trying to get that awful trey songz song on 106. I remember Cole name buzzing with the warm up because all the Drake stans flocked to him after he went with CMR. Kendrick was buzzing with the EP and OD, long before the Dre co sign(and we all know Dre doesn't get behind anything without any incentive)
You are proving my point. Nobody in real life was fukking with his music until these blogs started slurping him and the label put out the 2 mil deal news to generate buzz. Labels paid their blog contacts to hype him when he was a nobody.
puffy has produced and has been featured on countless classic songs and albums, rocky dosent have a classic anything in his catalogue.
Rocky (ironically the young Rakim)
I never understood why A$AP Rocky got so much love and Mac Miller got so much when they were basically the same artist when they first came out.
none of these guys rap about substance
Exactly
This clown stay exposing his lack of hip hop knowledge. Tellin on himself thinking people only heard of people through co signs because thats how he heard of them Almost everybody knew kendrick when he was called k. Dot,back when jay rock was bubbling and signed to warner. K.dot been out here grinding for years and years and this clown hadnt even heard of him until dre cosigned him
Asap had the most unnatural rise ive ever seen. Literally out of nowhere. Definition of industry plant.
And his music is vapid nonsense that you forget 5 minutes after you listen to it. And he had to run to drake,2chainz and kendrick for a single cuz his shyt flopped.
Mac miller has gotten better progressively with each release he's had and none of his albums really sound the same. He also produces a lot of his own shyt. He's an overall much more polished MC than ASAP and much better overall artist.
Goddamn he let that beat down That should have been the anthem of everything.
which only a tiny group of people/nobody were checking for.
so what? Haven't you noticed that everyone is desperate to post some random rapper making a tiny bit of e-noise just so they can say "they were on him/her first?"
The fact of the matter is that the cosigns took Shmurda WAY outta there. Hot nikka had like no views and had been sitting on Youtube for months doing nothing until blogs started talking about it. Clearly the music didn't speak for itself till the hype started.
Kendrick was not buzzing. Stop it. He was just another rapper in a sea of mediocrity. He barely got any coverage till Dre stepped in.
You have no point because Rocky barely had music out prior to Live.Love.ASAP. He had 6 songs. 5 of them were shyt. One was very interesting. and that was Purple Swag. so people wrote about it. And behind the scenes, him and Yams were creating a mixtape that was already flooring people in the know.
It's not rocket science.
The fact that Rocky was a nobody is something you should champion, not hate on. It's so weird to me that hip hop fans hate on Rocky for this. It reeks of jealousy. What do you think is more authentic? An unknown who comes out with stunning music and gets the chance at glory, or a vaguely-known rap act that no one really gives a fukk about until their manager makes the right industry connects and some washed up legend pushes the button?
The whole point of hip hop is for you to DO YOU and for the music to speak for itself. Rakim didn't come out with a cosign. He just dropped. No features. He didn't need some other major rapper to tell people to listen to him. He just excelled on his own.
Rocky (ironically the young Rakim) did the exact same shyt. No features. Rode that whole tape off the strength of his charisma. And that's a problem?!
You're so concerned with "who was fukking with what" that you've become a follower. I don't care who had a couple followers before they blew up. Rap has become so concerned with "movements" and it's the corniest shyt ever. Ultimately, Keef and Shmurda are disposable flashes in the pan. Live.Love.ASAP is vastly superior to anything they have and will ever release. Simple. Live.Love.ASAP will stand the test of time while all these popular rap acts and their over-hyped albums will fade.
This post is utter nonsense filled with lies and flat out inaccuracies. No I don't champion industry plants who had labels manipulate his buzz to make it seem like he was a bigger deal then he was with no material out
