Dawg, I’m in this field. I understand what AI is

In fact, ive been using it in my career for years. Where I am now, theyre trying to implement a tool (barely) but don’t like using it because they don’t understand how or care to learn.

I do though, because I used it with the Marines. It is an AI TOOL that makes gathering information easy af.

So every time you post these doom and gloom AI articles, I kinda look at you funny. AI right now isn’t what you think and will not dent the job market like you think, because people are not going to want to use the shyt.

Companies that decide to remove all workers to replace them with AI are going to most likely fail in the beginning just like when companies tried to outsource their entire IT departments to India or brazil or some shyt :mjlol:

Ultimately, it was a wash and those companies lost millions. This is no different, especially when laws will eventually be placed on it.

AI is not doing shyt until Quantum computing starts to do shyt, and at that point the entire computer field is going to change.

And that link is also washed. There are companies right now that has been using AI tech for decades, and if they fired someone, it wasn’t to replace them with AI

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
The recent AI play was simply a market-driven ploy to drive equity prices for any Company that could show 'AI efficiencies'. You even had fast-food Companies mentioning AI on their earnings calls :snoop:

Remember the driverless car craze back in 2017? :mjlol: Robo-taxi's are probably decades away from being commercially viable (if that), and that would be INFINITELY more achievable than AGI.

It won't take only 5% and it won't take 100%.

It's not doomsday, but if you can't see that a technology that can fix its flaws, upgrade itself, doesn't need sleep or holidays, all at a rate that no human could ever sustain or reskill for a new industry and it isn't problematic for the job market of the future, then you might just become one of the redundancies it eliminates.

The long-term problem I see for AI is context. But it can easily do most quantitative jobs out there. Qualitative is another story.

Bruh there are 7 billion people on this planet :mjlol:

Most of the 200 million people you linked are using ChatGPT to not really doing shyt with it other than meaningless tasks they probably could just google.

Nobody is using the shyt to replace anything:mjlol:

Guess how I know… because I actually use it at MY job. Not some article online, in real life.

chatgpt is just one service, there are literally dozens if not over a hundred companies with tens of millions of users globally. Baidu, tencent, Alibaba, snapchat, microsoft copilot, anthropic claude, google gemini and many more probably have over a billion AI users total.

@aisolopreneur
AI has replaced human best friends for 20 million people.

This isn't a joke. It's Character AI's monthly user base.

The loneliness epidemic is making real people *literally* fall in love with AI chatbots.

Here's the startling story 🧵

GX2OK_AbwAAk1FS.jpg

2/13
@aisolopreneur
Character AI lets users talk and "hang out" with AI models as friends...

And it has over 20 million monthly users (!!)

Let that sink in.

That's more than the population of New York City. All making friends with AI.

But how exactly does it work?

GX2OMw0bQAA0lxB.jpg

3/13
@aisolopreneur
"AI that feels alive" is Character AI's slogan.

Celebrities, historical figures, fictional characters – you name it.

Debate philosophy with Socrates.
Flirt with Margot Robbie.
Hang out with your anime crush.

Whoever you want. 24/7.

https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1836780607113969664/pu/vid/avc1/1326x720/kNrFovMp0ZzJhMnI.mp4

4/13
@aisolopreneur
It's like texting, but your chat partner is an AI trained to mimic a character.

A recent update allows you to call these AI characters on the phone.

And the craziest part?

GX2OWombkAAiUaa.jpg

GX2OW5CbcAAXmbF.png

5/13
@aisolopreneur
Millions (especially Gen Z and millennials) are developing real bonds with these AI characters.

Instead of real humans. Some are even addicted.

Here's a dark example:

GX2OYm_bQAA2eAP.png

GX2OY3SacAA8Suu.jpg

GX2OZLibkAAcvcU.jpg

GX2OZdkbwAA16CW.jpg

6/13
@aisolopreneur
This person isn't alone.

Many top comments (like the one below) also confessed addictions to their AI companions.

It's a lonely world. And people are finding a cure through AI algorithms.

GX2ObOnaEAAFS-Z.jpg

7/13
@aisolopreneur
But why is Character AI exploding in popularity right now?

20 million monthly active users is MASSIVE, so it's not just a passing trend...

It's a profound shift in how young people are socializing.

Let's break down the factors driving this digital companionship boom:

8/13
@aisolopreneur
1. The loneliness epidemic is real

Smartphones. Social media. Screen time.

All of these have contributed to the loneliest period in human history.

And Character AI offers an instant cure – a partner who's always there, always interested, never busy.

GX2OeVDasAAP4dJ.jpg

9/13
@aisolopreneur
2. Customization is king

Imagine having a friend who's exactly what you need them to be.

Supportive bestie? Check.
Tough-love mentor? You got it.
Flirty celebrity crush? Yep, that too.

Character AI lets you create or choose the perfect companion.

GX2OgFmb0AAnLkX.jpg

10/13
@aisolopreneur
3. No social anxiety

A Reddit post went viral where an introvert described how Character AI helped them practice social skills.

The comments were filled with similar stories.

People are using AI to overcome social fears in a safe, judgment-free zone.

11/13
@aisolopreneur
4. It's addictively good

The AI is scary good.

It remembers your conversations, adapts to your style, and can discuss almost anything.

It's like having a super-smart, super-attentive friend in your pocket.

GX2OjK5aQAAjYAo.jpg

12/13
@aisolopreneur
The top post on r/CharacterAI (1.4M members) is the below meme.

Funny, but it also shows the dark trajectory AI companionship is headed on.

Where does this lead?
What happens when people prefer their AI partners to real ones?

This seems like a Black Mirror episode to me.

you should browse the web and find out the various ways people are using AI if you think what they're doing is meaningless.

the Attention Is All You Need paper with transformers was released in June 2017 and that changed a lot of things for machine learning.

as for robot taxis...

China's AI and autonomous vehicles have improved tremendously.

Driverless technology is the Holy Grail in automotive industry.

Competition is good. That’s what makes Chinese companies better. In the US, many key sectors are dominated by monopolies.

@Factschaser
Musk showed off a Tesla “ robovan ” prototype but offered no concrete timeline for when this would launch. Meanwhile China has had operational robovans that work in a real city 😆

2/32
@Factschaser
While Musk turned to Hollywood special effects wizards to fake progress on his mythical Tesla robotaxi program, China has real Robovans and Robobuses operating on real city roads. Amazing what you can achieve when you don’t waste every waking moment tweeting xenophobic rants.

3/32
@Factschaser
China 🇨🇳 is also testing longer, full size autonomous electric buses. China already has autonomous fast battery swapping stations for electric buses. Two Chinese companies, BYD and CATL own 60% of EV 🔋 market. Get why US 🇺🇸 slapped tariffs on China to throttle its progress?

4/32
@Factschaser
The smoke and mirrors show Musk put on yesterday could’ve worked 5 years ago when investors were less aware of his scams/more forgiving about his exaggerations — only his ketamine-addled mind believed last night’s vacuous performance and goalpost shifting would impress 🤡

[Quoted tweet]

That smoke and mirrors guy that reportedly wastes every waking moment tweeting xenophobic rants just caught a giant rocket booster with chopsticks, FYI.

Musk does not run SpaceX bro. He does not launch rockets. Smart engineers attracted to SpaceX due to Obama do. All Musk does is tweet racist content all day.

7/32
@AccPainting
The people that have accomplished the least in this world will criticize the people that are actually making positive change. It’s interesting

8/32
@Factschaser
Musk committed fraud to secure his compensation package by faking driving range, promising robotaxis, Roadster, and fraudulently charging customers for features never delivered, and now wants you to believe government is after him for political reasons 🤡

[Quoted tweet]
Musk said in a formal presentation in 2019 that he was confident that by Q2 2020, FSD would be “feature complete” enough so you could “sleep” while a $TSLA vehicle drives itself, and that this tech would enable robotaxis. These are specific statements that constitute fraud.

9/32
@HouMuza
It’s not about tweeting but regulation. I believe China’s AI regulation is more favourable to stuff like this than the western world. Remember social credit?

From what I gather, Musk is not responsible for any of the technological achievements at Tesla and simultaneously responsible for holding back technical progress by being distracted.

13/32
@ArjunoKecil
Yo @elonmusk wtf

24/32
@HelmeMason
communist brethren , yes I get it fukking idiot

25/32
@milli_ace
You’re an idiot

26/32
@SPLACS_TRADES
Amazing what you can achieve when you steal tech and have zero regulations to burden you! Glad you are talking down on the only person who is consistently putting out concept vehicles into production. And single-handedly put America into space again prior to him, we were paying Russians to launch. My goodness, the amount of negative energy is astounding.

27/32
@Factschaser
Hmmm

[Quoted tweet]
Many Sinophobes have commented that China steals US IP — well if that’s true, why can’t US make EVs like the Chinese 😂?

As Apple CEO Tim Cook noted, China has an incredible concentration of important skills that US simply does not. Why? Because US misspent on endless wars.

28/32
@annyyaojun

29/32
@AlutaMax
You make it sound negative that Tesla announced a Robovan.

30/32
@wickedoldgrump
It’s true that since it’s a communist state, you have no idea how many fatalities this bus has caused.

31/32
@AnalyticsData
There are Robo buses all over the world. It’s not unique to China.

Fact checker rubbish. Chinese propaganda isn’t working

32/32
@olubendi
Are you not tweeting rants right now trying to get his attention. On his platform 😂. Progress can happen in different stages in different ways in different places. And that’s ok.

Everytime a new technological advance takes a job, it usually creates new ones.

Like you used to have people going door to door knocking on peoples doors to wake them up every morning.
Now you have hundreds of alarm clock companies in a 200 million industry

Used to have newspaper businesses, now you have online vlogs and articles.

Not every advancement is a doomsday prophecy

There was a strike from about 50 thousand workers whom help maintain this country’s logistics infrastructure/supply chain flow because of looming automation, and you say some dumb shyt like this…..

Been saying this shyt for a minute. More fear mongering and to sell shyt when honestly, AI is cool but it is more so only useful as a tool at the moment.

And its been around for decades.

Many companies got rid of their phone and chat agents and replaced them with chat bots. Even the amazon chat bot can issue an refund.

A tool performs a task which is exactly what AI is used for. A task is essentially what one does at work.

Not replacing every job but it will impact many.

This is common sense…. and why private companies are investing 11 figures easily annually in research and development to improve upon the existing tech

The downplaying of AI in this thread is crazy :wow:

Sure in the past most advances came with new opportunities, but when the advances only require prompts a lot of opportunities will no longer be there. Tyler Perry halted an $800 studio build because of sora, that's a small example but still.
Thank you. Most these posters are seriously just fukking stupid. It really makes me upset

Sora hasn't even been released to the general public and months later there are over a dozen alternatives available to the public. the quality and control over the video gets improvements damn near very month.
