I'm in the minority that thinks losing to the Mavs was the best thing to happen to this team and LeBron James. We're all assuming that the future would have remained the same if they won, which is not a given (i.e, they would have made the next two finals). Truth is, that loss forced all of them to take a look at themselves, the chemistry, the coaching, role players, etc... It also humbled them. But the role players adjustment was huge. I know damn well during Game 6 last year against the Spurs that the finals against the Mavs had to be on their minds.

Read earlier that Gary Payton said Wade lacked work ethic, compared to a guy like Kobe. Said he was more "show". I think that may have changed since LeBron came along though.

Honestly he hasn't been playing bad but he doesn't handle the ball as much as he used to(which may affect his rhytm), is not as quick as he once was, and is more prone to turnovers. If you look at him from an efficiency standpoint he's been pretty good actually.

His work ethic IS poor.

Look at hoe he approaches off seasons. Every year he waits until it's almost the beginning of camp to start rehabbing. Granted last year was different but still.If dude was half as committed as guys like Ray Allen he's still be besting.

Look at how Spo asked Allen to lose 10 labs in the offseason. Allen does it and comes back dunking on the young ins like he was 25 again.

I still think if Bron would have played better in those finals. Wade would have still won the finals MVP.

Basis? If Bron puts up his normal 28, 9, 7 (career playoff averages) you really think D. Wade wins MVP with inferior numbers across the board? Bron playing like a broad was the only reason Wade had a shot at MVP to begin with. He just didn't have it in him to close the deal as the man with Bron and Bosh giving plenty of support as 2nd and 3rd options.
