After seeing this, I don't see how black players choose to go to schools like Alabama

why are we suppose to act like we give a shiit about these kids best interest

i see them as just another player in the long line of players thats gonna play at the school.

Luckily im not asking you.. I'm asking people who care about other young black males other than themselves. Even if you don't care about them, who wants to see old racist white men eat of young black kids? Wouldn't you rather see a successful black enterprise? If not, that's too bad there are people out there like you.

What has that done for Davidson or Weber State? Matter of fact, where were these HBCU's when Curry and Lillard could only go to these schools since they were the only ones offering scholarships? There are schools that pick up kids that slip through the cracks of bigger schools and they turn out fine. Why haven't these HBCU's been able to find them and develop them?

and what did John Wall do for UK? John Wall went to UK because John Calipari recruited him. It's the same reason why Derrick Rose, the top PG in his class, decided to go to Memphis in Conference USA. It starts with recruiting and coaching, and these HBCU's don't recruit well enough. As the saying goes, the fish rots from the head. We're seeing a school like Grambling in football fall apart because of the heads at that school. Yet, we should expect everything to change by giving those heads a bigger conference and more money? That's like giving a crappy GM more cap space.

We can all go home.

I don't use this word ever but I'm going to use it now. You must be a CAC to not care about young black men being used by a predominantly white and racist institution.

okay and what in your opinion is these kids suppose to do?

its okay to speak out on the forum breh, you dont have to go with group think

If you read my first comment, I said I realized they don't currently have much of an option at this point. I would like to see something done in the future though where black people can prosper more from their talents in the long run.

I'm not down with the c00n or Cac terms. But if you out here straight up saying fukk those kids I'm only worried about me. What does that make you? Besides an idiot for not realizing them succeeding, will actually probably benefit you down the road

Dudes putting these cats futures on the line to create some theoretical Black powerhouse, like they playing NCAA football or making a madden dynasty.

No sensible person is telling these individual kids to not go to these schools right now. But what's wrong with saying we should look long term into creating a system that will benefit them more. These people that come to watch these kids and make money off them, would be the same people crossing the street just not to be on the sidewalk with you and you want to see them prosper?

I heard a coach on NFL radio say that once upon a time, the majority of the nation's most talented black players attended HBCUS. So HCBUs, rather than racist redneck schools like Alabama, were once the most fertile breeding grounds for NFL talent. At base, the reason schools like Alabama have flourished is because they have legions of scummy wealthy white boosters willing to consume their TV production. HBCUs meanwhile do not. Blacks unfortunately have no such base, in part because of our comparatively tiny population. We can hardly keep HBCUs functioning let alone attract the commercialism needed to fund scholarships and attract talent.

That said, HBCUs represent black equity, history and excellence. Southern redneck schools are bastions of shame, slavery and self interest. It would be a net positive if black athletes attended HBCUs, period. Recruits might even learn something about themselves in the process.

You are missing my point. Who is benefiting in the long run off all this? That school that promotes racism and classism. I'm just saying everyone could succeed just as much and if not more while you still get your entertainment while playing for another school. Again, these kids can make their money, which 98% don't ever see. While not helping these racist institutions benefit. How do you not see the benefit of this for you and those kids?

how the fukk is anything a HBCU does going to be more beneficial to them than what a Alabama, Notre Dame, UCLA does for them. Yall dudes don't understand economics or just don't understand how small these schools. How the fukk a school with 5,000 students gonna compete against a school with 22,000

Man if you ever play for a major institution. You on your way. These dues stay looking out for these dumb ass athletes. Way more than school like Fam U ever could. even if you never go pro you straight.
