After seeing this, I don't see how black players choose to go to schools like Alabama

Thats BULLshyt. Texas A&M has been a shyt football school for many years. When they joined the SEC many people claimed they would be perrenial bottom feeders. I think we can all see the opposite is true.

The fact of the matter is, TV contracts should be given out equitably to all conferences that participate. SWAC is a conference designed to MARGINALIZE black schools and keep them out of the pie. The SWAC conference should be dissolved and these schools integrated with these larger conferences. This would allow black schools to receive better funds for its atheletic departments.

Its clear these PWI have TOO MUCH fukkING CASH generated by their programs. Monies that could be redistributed to other schools so that the playing field could be more level. Its disgusting the way money is spoilt by these large PWI's, while other equally important instutions suffer.

Based on what?

how the fukk is anything a HBCU does going to be more beneficial to them than what a Alabama, Notre Dame, UCLA does for them. Yall dudes don't understand economics or just don't understand how small these schools. How the fukk a school with 5,000 students gonna compete against a school with 22,000

You're obviously NOT black, so you're clueless. HBCU's prepare black people to better cope with the racist infrastructure in this system FAR better than PWIs. I've seen far too many examples of this in my years growing up. But your a white person, so i'm sure what i'm typing sounds more like Greek to you.

What has that done for Davidson or Weber State? Matter of fact, where were these HBCU's when Curry and Lillard could only go to these schools since they were the only ones offering scholarships? There are schools that pick up kids that slip through the cracks of bigger schools and they turn out fine. Why haven't these HBCU's been able to find them and develop them?

and what did John Wall do for UK? John Wall went to UK because John Calipari recruited him. It's the same reason why Derrick Rose, the top PG in his class, decided to go to Memphis in Conference USA. It starts with recruiting and coaching, and these HBCU's don't recruit well enough. As the saying goes, the fish rots from the head. We're seeing a school like Grambling in football fall apart because of the heads at that school. Yet, we should expect everything to change by giving those heads a bigger conference and more money? That's like giving a crappy GM more cap space.

I can't answer why HBCU's aren't on the AAU circuit picking up kids like Lilliard. And John Wall made UK the cool school for top prospects to go too. Does Cal play a part in that? Yeah he does but all it takes is a few recruits to go to a HBCU to potentially change things.

You stupid fukk those "elite" facilities were built on the backs of BLACK ATHLETES, most of whom are likely BROKE in their respective communities, with no fukks given about their welfare.

Those facilities could have easily been at Howard or Meharry had more black atheltes played for these institutions.

LMAO, I'm out cuz you dude is crazy.

Acting like Bama just became a rich school THIS year or THIS decade. shyt is the biggest public University in the State It would be loaded if a nikka never set foot in Tuscaloosa. Same for the majority of the Major Public Institutions

But keep thinking Carmelo going to Alcorn St. would have made a shyt bit of difference for the school

I played basketball at a HBCU (i didn't play, i redshirted because of academics) for a year. We were NAIA, had a really good team too, went to the NAIA final four that year. But I couldn't stay at that school, the education was pretty bad, the facilities were bad and the surrounding area of the school was very unsafe (for you FL cats, it was Edward Waters College). I left after a year and played JuCo...

Sadly, a lot of HBCUs just are not up to par with even some Division 2 schools.
