After rewatching The Wire, I think it's safe to say Stringer>Avon.

Deangelo was making up shyt because he was intimidated by bodie, bodie knew he was telling ducktails though
Right. I think Bodie would have made a better pit boss than D'Angelo. D'Angelo only got that spot through nepotism.

I've watched this show twice and I'll tell you this, every time you watch it and read about it, your perspective changes and your favourite characters change.

For example, Stringer after the first viewing was my top 3. In retrospect, he was a bytch lol

No wonder they have a course at Harvard on this show.
I think most people who watch the show for the first time would rate Stringer. But as you scratch the surface you see that Stringer wasn't as bright or impressive as first thought.

He still aint try to really cross bodie when that Lex mess popped up when he could have wiped the whole corner off; he respected Bodie as Bodie was known to buss his gun and stand for his corner; even before that he told fruit to mop up Bodie crew, when Bodie wasnt there

People sleep but if you pay attention Bodie was stringer number two in command; people sleep on the second season though; Shamrock and crew used to always try to side eye him
Man..Marlo didn't give a fukk about no damn Bodie. As much as I fukk with Bodie, bruh was just like two steps above Poot.

Bodie just looked up to Stringer because Stringer was a boss. Stringer just threw him a bone here and there and was manipulating him. Wasn't it Stringer that put it in Bodie's head to kill Wallace?

That was more about not starting a war for no reason. At that point Marlo was basically a nobody in the bigger picture.

Still say Marlo had luck on his side

He did. Avon had him got when String snitched on him. Plus he came along when Avon's crew was weakened AND String was turning into 'cant we all just get along'

I forget that dangelo is WHY wee bey got hemmed up. fukk that dude.
Bey woulda got caught eventually anyway. Think that cat ain't gonna get knocked at some point?

Right place at the right time he was what the game demanded somebody of that new generation of B'more gangsters who gave no fukks about "tradition" and rules.
Kind of but thing was he took it way too far. He was a sociopath and again, would've got knocked down if not for Avon and String's beef with each other.

Not sure about that breh, The Pit was doing better then ever with D'angelo was taking charge.

I was about to post this if you didn't. D had the pit clocking better than ever. Was on his way to "points on the package".

Bodie was my dude and earned his spot but his ascent to Tower chief coincided with alotta dudes getting locked up and killed.

Bodie was catching bodies, riding out of town for the whole shipment, and bussing his gun for his corner, let's not act like he was a lil nikka, y'all don't pay attention to season 2 tho

:whoa: Easy now...The Wire is my fav show of all time and I've lost count how many times I rewatched the series. I was even an extra in a scene where Royce was giving a speech on the docks :smugfavre:
But let's talk about S2....
Bodie hadn't really caught any bodies at that point. He shot Wallace...but Poot finished him. I'd venture to say Bodie was a lil shook to do it as well. Cuz String didn't tell him to bring anybody with him. He told Bodie to handle Wallace. He kinda gamed Poot to help talking bout String said for US to "step the fukk up or step the fukk off".
Yeah he took the trip OT but like I said, that's cuz there was really no one else to. And if you recall Shamrock was really in charge that trip. If you're talking about busting his gun for the corner where the lil boy got killed....well that didn't work out well for the organization. And are you claiming the lil boy as another body Bodie dropped? Cuz I can't think of anyone else he put down.
Once again, I liked Bodie. He was a great character. He was kinda the heart of the show. He was the definition of the fact that the street cats weren't evil, but they adapted to their environment to survive.
He was a good hustler and a good soldier. But his come up was more from circumstance than merit. But he held it down.
He never really struck me as a killer. Re-watch that scene after Stringer got killed and the Barksdale crew is holding court at the funeral home.
He walks up to Slim like "Slim just say da word. Just say da mufukkin word".
Slim kinda looks at him like :dame::aicmon:
To me that look said "you talkin rah rah, youngin, but I don't think you really ready for this murder game".
Not everybody in the streets is ready to callously take life :manny:

Out here in my damn drawls
This video sums up alot about their downfall

Weak muscle was a big problem after Weebey got went up with Avon. Even had Slim Charles out there looking silly

"Last seen Jarrod, he was racing bullets up Fayette street. He appeared to be winning :francis:"

:dead:

Pay attention to 9:00 to 9:49

Avon was being reckless. Willing to go out in the street to handle beef himself and he almost got killed.
Stringer was trying to tell him to wait and build more muscle . The Co-op would have brought the time to rebuild while they handled business

If Avon was patient, he could have took over the Co-op like Marlo did once the Barkesdale crew got stabilized since he wanted the corners so bad

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Never really thought about this, but the co-op was dumb af
All they had to do was get hit with a Rico and that whole shyt come tumbling down. And from what I understand they just gotta prove one group in the co-op is doing something
it was smart... it was no different than the commission

by why in the holy fukk was they meeting at a hotel, that someone would have to rent out and leave a paper trail, WITH THE GODDAMN NAME OF THE CO OP IN BRIGHT LETTERS ON THE SIGN OUT FRONT :mindblown:
