My parents live in a majority white neighborhood. People around there stay fukking with them. Dudes stole an american flag off their porch like a few days after July 4th.

Cacs are so ridiculous.
Dude I grew up in a majority white neighborhood...fairly affluent with three black families in it....TOTAL. The rest were rich cacs and some Indians who were doctors.

When we moved in in 1993...four of the white neighbors moved out damn near immediately (probably cause they thought we were going to bring down the property values). White people doing door to door business would ask my mom when she would answer the door if she was a maid.

While I agree with some posts here the fact of the matter is running away from black communities elsewhere just leaves them to rot and become gentrification casualties leaving no place for black people in America to build. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Plus in those communities black people are surrounded by people who don't look like them and ultimately can't relate to them which leads them with a myriad of issues developmentally from self hate to just plain growing up c00nish.

Like I get that's where all the good stuff (schools, banks, shopping, parks, etc) is but gotdamn. African Americans fought for years to live in the same communities next to the same people who burned down their churches, banks, denied them loans, education, housing, humanity, and their lives? Doesn't that sound kind of insane when you really think about it?

:what:

In your attempt to be on some black militant shyt, you're effectively thinking like a racist white on some 1940's housing covenant shyt.
If you say so breh...im not even on some "militant sh!t" im on some spiritual sh!t...
All im saying is we need to form black communities establish black business networks and keep our money to ourselves...
the other way has clearly not been working...why are some of yall so insistent on trying to make a relationship work that doesn't and wont ever?

That may be how they started, but that's not how or why they continued. Look up neighborhoods like Bay Ridge, Breezy Point, Howard Beach, and Bensonhurst. Some of my fam used to get chased with baseball bats by Cactalians while waiting to get on the bus from school in Bensonhurst.

Had a cat tell my mom he was driving through Breezy Point and stopped to run into a corner store, when he walked out a cop was waiting. Cop told him he needed to get back in his car and never stop in their town again because they're:mjpls:

Mind you, this is a well educated man who works as a paralegal in lower Manhattan; very mild mannered.

Few years ago hurricane Sandy ran through Breezy Point and left the shyt looking like this

Breh who got stopped was like:blessed:
Again...great story. But this sounds like what I've been thinking about with aas....why do you want to abandon black neighborhoods and leave them to die to move with people that don't want us there?

Yo...my family friends house...they moved to a lily white suburb in Pittsburgh way back in the day. They bought a swing set and cacs burned that shyt...down.

They also burned a plastic Santa we had for Christmas outside of our house when I was in second grqde.

They won't say it to your faces...they'll smile at you...but low key once their malls start having too many black people there and they get too comfortable they'll let you know they don't want you there.

I would NEVER live in a predominantly white neighborhood again...I want to be around people that look like me and I can relate to. I want diversity. I want to build with people.

So it's like this...what would you rather deal with?

Crackheads, crime, terrible schools, urban decay

Or

Racist cops that profile you in the neighborhood you live in, banks that deny you loans or mortgage, Realtors that use codes words basically to say :mjpls:, sending your kids to go to a predominantly white school with racist teachers and faculty that give you problems even when your children excel at school...and so on?

I guess for me, it wouldn't be a factor in deciding where I live. I couldn't imagine any adult giving a fukk, really.

This neighborhood has:
  • Good schools
  • Low taxes
  • Excellent appreciation potential
  • Close to work
  • Affordable
  • :lupe: But will the white people like me tho???
I mean really, you would consider that? If they don't like you that's their problem. Hell, I'd kind of consider it a perk if they were annoyed. :yeshrug:

So who is too blame when your scared everyday your son comes home late cuz he might be hanging from a tree?
:damn:

But you are saying we need to exist in a society completely seperate from whites.
But with equal opportunities.
But not Jim Crow.:mjlol:

I never said completly seperate...i mean certain restaurants transportaion hubs clubs etc. will always be common areas for everyone who wants to get along with everone else but for the most part we need more predominatly black communities to build our empire back up...invest our 7.2 billion dollars(?) of consumer money with a mojority of black business ....
you need to take this more serious ..its really not a joke

I was in class years back and I made a comment that the formal end of segregation, overall, wasn't positive for African Americans. The entire class, all yt except me, turned and looked at your girl like:merchant: I was on my:birdman: so Idgaf.

My professor jumped in to :whoa: She gave them a lecture on how there were more thriving black communities and businesses because black money was concentrated rather than wasted in white establishments where it would never benefit black people .

The fact is segregation never truly ended, what ended is white people refusing to take black money.
