:ehh:

So this talk would be acceptable in poor white neighborhoods? Or does being white supersede being poor?

The point i'm getting at, is you are attaching an economic condition(and all that comes along with it) to a skin color, and im not sure I agree.

and how is "black money" vs "white money" better than simply "American money"? Is the general sentiment here that racial barrier are not to be broken down/removed, but embraced and worked around?:ld:

:snoop: ok, help me out. What did you take away from the OP? You saw it and thought what?

If the factors of a community being poor revolve around the communities inability to circulate dollars within itself then the solution would be to shift the flow of dollars internally first and then externally. People dont see life the way you see it and personally, i see no reason for a community to remain destitute while they wait for the hope that one day the rest of the world that are already doing what im talking about now, show charity to people that are waiting on them to see life through your eyes, friend.

Waiting on charity is not a form of progress, friend. Now if you support more taxing of all of the groups with and then using their money to improve neighborhoods that are in the dumps, then thats a different story. That would be more American, but you said earlier, you dont like paying for welfare for a woman that you feel is irresponsible and you could care less what happens to her children that she cant feed because of her irresponsibility, so im confused as to what your position actually is. Doesnt strike me as very American, friend.

as much as racism is a problem, it now pales to classism. I'd rather see money being spent and mom and pop shops, regardless of their race so long as that shop had ties to the local community. Shipping all our money overseas or to Delaware is a no win for poor people.

There is power in money and while i see what @DEAD7 is saying and agree with him on an idealistic point, practicality tells me that as we're only 3-4 generations from MLK and wrestling so many minority rights free, there's still some "transitional" phase to work through. In other words, i'd support race based spending for now, until that blending of races occurs in the hopefully not to distant future.

Gotta remember, we wont likely be around to see the day when "race" doesn't matter like it does today, BUT we can set the foundation for the equity battles that are coming by providing the current poor (particularly the segment with the highest percentage (AA)) a solid foundation.

Question:
If a black owned company came out with a shoe. Would you still buy Nike? Or would you support that shoe company?

And before you get altruistic, check your closet for FUBU, then get back to me.

Nothing. Just another near meaningless statistic in my honest opinion. It was the comments that sparked my approach, which I clearly stated were unfinished, and possibly misguided. I was just spit balling seeing what came back.

I dont disagree with anything you guys are saying, save the race = class insinuation being made intentionally or not.

:whoa:Challenging your positions, helps me to better understand them, im not trying to argue.

When do you see this blending happening and do you really see it having the positive effect you think it will for the nation. Take central america, a nation that has been blending for centuries. How has it effected their economic conditions positively. At a glance it looks like the same reasons to discriminate against friends exist in many of these nations despite the leadership being so, Blended, friend.

Good post breh. I think practicing group economics puts more food on the table for each group now. We have to take care of today and build for tomorrow. People wonder why the Chinese man can go anywhere on the planet and succeed. Its because he practices group economics. He starts a business that caters to the needs of the local population and he will spend his money first in Chinatown before he spends his money in another community. That is why he is not begging dominant groups of other societies for a job or for welfare. I don't think there will be anything such as a post-racial society. It will take more than mixing races to stop racism.

As far as FUBU, that folded because unfortunate whites saw the potential consumer dollars they could get from blacks and bought it. A company like that could have evolved into something bigger. Expanding from urbanwear and going business wear. FUBU could not grow with me like it could have. Now, I prefer stuff I could wear to work and go out to on a Friday night. I think black designers to have added their own flare to my type of clothing options as a grown man. But on the other hand, if we are going to spend money on clothes regardless of who makes it. We should be able to have our own stores that we can shop for it. At least in cities like Atlanta we have those kind of boutiques and they create jobs and build wealth in our community. I don't blame an Asian or Latino for deciding to spend his money with his own people first. That is not racist, that is being smart. Ain't nobody going to take better care of your house, than you.

Black people threw away their own businesses for the sake of social integration. We owned more banks under segregation than we do now. We threw away the Negro Leagues so that one black player could in the MLB. We should have merged instead or told the MLB to kick rocks. The ABA merged into the NBA, I didn't see these cacs throwing away their teams so that Dr J can play in the NBA. We need to start understanding that our concept of social integration which other groups could care less about is what is keeping us from being economically independent. That is why blacks rely on whites to employ us and give us opportunities...meanwhile a Sikh with a turban on his head has no problem getting a job among his people.

That's only one factor of it. The biggest factor of why the chinese man can go anywhere in the world and be successful is because chinese culture places a HUGE emphasis on work ethic and not wasting time. STEM fields are dissproportionately filled with asians because their culture pushes them to succeed as hard as they can.

So in the ends it is SKILLS that causes you to succeed. I'm sure group economics is a factor, but it pails in comparison to the fact that right now black america as a whole is lacking in skills, whether that means with your hands or with your mind. Black america has nothing to offer to this country besides entertainment and entertainment

A group that does not practice group economics will not have an emphasis on STEM fields. If a group is dumb enough to reject group economics, they are not smart enough to go into STEM fields.

Science - dentistry, medicine, veterinary, auto
Technology - computer shops, electronic retail, auto, etc
Engineering - electronic repair shops, engineering firms, etc
Mathematics - accountants, banking, finance, etc

All STEM fields are designed to enhance a community. You find all of these in Chinatown in Houston. You have to have a target base to which you will provide these services. Anybody outside the target base is icing on the cake. If you don't act like a community that cares about circulating your money you will not go into STEM for the community. You are already practicing inappropriate behavior as community. Only thing left is to drive the community away because you don't own anything. That is why black communities are getting economically bullied into gentrification. When was the last time you heard the Asian being pushed out of Chinatown. You cannot do that to people who are united and economically strong.

All of those services can be rendered to the general population. An asian person doesn't need an asian neighborhood to set up any of those businesses.

What about Indians? How come Indians are so successful even though Indian doctors cater to all sorts of people, not just other indians.
