The stars are going to have to suck it up and work more and work harder. The many people there that dont want Punk back should be prepared to wrestle twice. Nah the show was always gonna be green lit, they wanted the show before Punk's return was even thought of. It was originally a hour show.
Idk if Tony or WBD pushed the Punk/soft brand split angle(had to be on AEW's end), but when that was mentioned, WBD wanted it to be a 2hour show and offered more money. That is really why Punk has so much leverage here.

Not having the biggest star in your company that was heavily promoted to appear on the launch of it is a bad look imo. We’re in a time where people just feel things will work just because they want them to work. Coach hit the nail on the head with it. TV execs are typically known as some of the worst decision makers in entertainment and the reason for that in part is because if something they come up with doesnt work, all they have to do is cancel it and being in something else real quick.
