I feel like this is saying "Greg Maddux is the better pitcher but Nolan Ryan has the better fastball"coli got it right this time
LT is the better all-around back but AD is the better runner
I feel like this is saying "Greg Maddux is the better pitcher but Nolan Ryan has the better fastball"
So I am a little surprised at some of the people insisting on AD.
Now tell me why I'm wrong
You're not making any sense. AD is a better runner while LTwas asked to do more things.
Nah bruh not quite. 98 and 99 seasons were great seasons for any other back.Basically all running backs hit a wall in their early 30s, and this isn't a new development.
Emmitt's last great year came at age 26. He continued to chug along and compile numbers into his early 30s, but he was no longer a game breaker.
LT had his last great year at age 28, but he had a few productive seasons after that. Both LT and Emmitt fell off substantially as they approached 30. The main difference is Emmitt was able to hang around a little longer churning out 900 yard seasons.
LT was asked to do more things?
That's the only reason he did those things?
Not because his skill set was greater?
So it was his running that held him back as a receiver.AD has never played in heavy pass out the backfield offenses. I don't think he's LTs caliber of receiver, but he certainly could have been put in open space more than he was over his career. But when you have a runner that has as many 50 plus yard runs as AD has had over his career, you keep him in the backfield
Rushed for over 2000 yards coming off the ACL injury. Got to almost 1500 coming off that year suspensionPeterson tore his ACL and came back the following season with almost 1500 rushing yards. :damedashohyeah:

I get what you're saying but I don't think that's a equivalent comparison.I feel like this is saying "Greg Maddux is the better pitcher but Nolan Ryan has the better fastball"

AD never caught many passes for 2 reasonsSo it was his running that held him back as a receiver.
This sounds weak as hell but I dig it.
Kinda how Michael Vick's running held back his passing.
Barry Sanders
Eric Dikkerson
OJ Simpson
Jim Brown
Marshall Faulk
Emmitt Smith
Walter Payton
Bo Jackson
Marcus Allen
That's 9 RBs.
Who you kicking out to make room for Peterson and Tomlinson top 5?
You call it "held back." If someone owns the NFL record for most 50 yard runs, you keep him in the backfieldSo it was his running that held him back as a receiver.

Like they should waste AD by having him run pass routes for Tavaris JacksonYou call it "held back." If someone owns the NFL record for most 50 yard runs, you keep him in the backfield
I can't with the football acumen on here sometimes.Like they should waste AD by having him run pass routes for Tavaris Jackson
