If he appealed then AP is dumber than I thought.

I can tell you guys haven't been in any large PR issue. The papers only go so far. The public has spoken, AP will not play another game this season.

Don't know why you're surprised AD is appealing....hes been bucking against the system since the beginning. And right or wrong, that's played a huge part of him getting the hammer laid down on him. If he had played ball (i.e. appeared contrite and apologetic for his actions) he probably would've been fined and suited up for the Vikings this Sunday.

I don't believe the NFL did this for PC reasons, no one cares about this case like they did ray rice...not now. I think they did this to punch back

No if he appeals then he still gets paid until the final decision. Which is motivation enough.
He will probably get his pay back, but Goodell and the league had to threaten to take his pay away. They know that part of it probably won't stand, but had to take the stand initially regardless to appease the public.

You are making assumptions

Nah, you are. So you telling me Papa John would drop Peyton Manning if they players wear all black socks as protest? You sound dumb as fukk. At the end of the day, a fraction of NFL players have endorsements (mostly quarterbacks). We Americans love our NFL and the players. Corporations know that. They would be stupid to drop players because of that. The only player losing endorsements is Peterson.

So if somebody accuses you of something that a court of law ruled isnt what happened you just gon accept losing your lively hood over it?

There is no legal basis for this suspension...AP would be an idiot not to appeal and he's already lost all his sponsors anyway so your PR point is moot...
He will get his pay back, but the nfl had to take this stance initially.

You guys are responding to this with your emotions. It doesn't work that way.

Nah man, you guys are diminishing what AP did. It's a significant offense in the public eye. Who gives a shyt if it was ruled a misdemeanor in court. The majority speaks.

Think about it for a second and try again.
What majority? The one influenced by the agenda driven media? That's what you nikkas want deciding a mans livelihood?:dahell:

If TMZ posted a photoshopped pic of you sucking dikk we should accept that as credible evidence that you're a fakkit? TMZ don't post fake shyt to get its agenda through to the masses...:rudy:

Your opening line was already an assumption...stop it

The only player we know beating his kid with a tree branch is peterson.

You are making assumptions. If you want to argue come stronger.

I don't condone what AD did. I lambasted him when the pics came out, still I think this is excessive and sets a dangerous precedent.

The NFL turning into a courthouse (issuing heavy handed suspensions without a conviction) is a slippery slope.
just to clarify, you mean in other instances

Adrian Peterson was convicted of his crime.

Its tough for me, while Goodell is overstepping his boundaries what AD did was ridiculously wrong. And he was not contrite at all.l

Most don't need the media to know that beating your kid with a fukking tree branch is wrong. You are delusional if you think the public needed tmz to feel that way.

He will get his pay back

The country was divided on this case...

Plenty of folks in the south have no issue with what AP did...

Disciplining your child is not child abuse...a court of law agreed with that in this case...

I'm think about it and the public needs to get mad at the judge and prosecutor for AD getting the deal, not the NFL. The NFL is in the sports entertainment business, not the moral compass of the world. People are taking their frustration at the NFL when they should go after the courts for people getting deals and decisions for issues that they do not like.

This right here...

I honestly don't beleive that AP was intending to abuse his child by disciplining him. Those of us young African American boys who were actually fortunate enough to grow up with our fathers know that an ass whipping WILL occur at some point if we are knuckleheads. Now did he go too far? I believe so. My father whipped me but he never used a switch and it wasn't when I was 4. However I truly feel there was no malice in the discipline and I do not condone this suspension nor the letter basically accusing AP of being some sort of monster.

And no showing no "meaningful remorse"? Didn't AP state he was going to get counseling? Didn't be apologize for negative reactions his family received? Isn't that remorse enough? This isn't a Ray Rice situation and should NOT be treated as such

You don't get to choose how the public will react.

The public has reacted strongly and who is the one that stands the most to lose? That's right, the NFL.

They HAVE to cave when it comes to something in this magnitude. PERIOD

Lance Armstrong lost all of his endorsements with his scandal and he was the only known face of his sport. I get what you are saying but in 2014 even Peyton isn't above it anymore.
