So Cal
Jordan needs to reinvent itself.
Dropping price and increasing supply killed the brand's value.
They need to go back to that.
On top of that, the retro shyt is down, make a moritorium on any retros coming out for atleast 5 years., you you do make it extremely limited 100 pair or something like that.
They need to actually make shoes for the Jordan Brand athlete and make it mean something.
They need a new Jordan shoe as well, maybe split the brand into game gear and fashion wear.
they raised the prices.

Nike's designs have been getting stale, not just Jordan Brand...

Brehs... Adidas got the juice now. Ever since they brought Yeezy on board, their design have adopted a much more minimalistic style and they've been pushing things forward. Nike still dominates in the basketball realm, but just on some fashion shyt, and casual sneaker wear?

Adidas > Nike

This is misleading.
As Adidas is an entire shoe company all to its own.
Of course it sells more than Jordan brand now.
If this was honest it would have Adidas and yeezy separate.
Adidas is just enjoying finally having its own version of air, with boost. Where things like their catapult and torsion system never had pop.
As far as cushioning as a convo piece and striking part of its cosmetics. So times are a changing.
Yet and still Adidas has finally got its own equivalent to air or the air bubble with boost. So, it finally has gotten the boost in sales it desires.

Yet and still it is no accomplishment for an entire shoe line like Adidas.
to gloat about passing an offshoot of nike in Jordan brand.

If anything Adidas looked goofie losing all those years to Jordan brand.

Which means all that time.
Adidas, never knew,...
what or how to design shoes that had pop or interest.

Adidas finally js getting on with a cushioning system to rival nike air and the iconic nike air bubble.
Yet past that all the new Adidas designs are lifts of nike rosche, and presto. That people keep acting like Nike never put them on. This is another case of nike not giving a shyt like with the pump. Whereas nike had the pump in higher quality and cosmetics/aesthetics.
Reebok is looked at as the pump guys.
when in reality nike is the original real pump guys. Same thing here with Adidas and boost. Nike did this shyt first and made it pop. Adidas just came and jumped on the wave and added boost to rosche and presto's.

Big cultural shift towards European fashion & casual sportswear in recent years so no surprised that the biggest European sportswear company that specialzes in casual wear is benefiting from that. It's not like Adidas isn't still third rate when it comes to Basketball, it's just that Basketball gear ain't as popular as it used to be.

This also...

Adidas is huge overseas, and fairly priced. Jordan's aren't THAT popping overseas, and if they are, it's because of US folk living in that area.

Jordan brand did not drop prices.

They raised prices and are just going through a time they already endured in the early 2000's when retro's were sitting.
That setup the current reseller blitz market of the past ten years boom wise. Right now it is just a cyclical shift and nike and Jordan brand will just ride this sign of the times. Till jordan's rejump jn value just like it did from the early 2000's.

This is a standard shift nike has endured before and people who are green kr new need to just calm down.

Tranquilo....

The guy who posted the initial report said the Yeezy sales were too marginal to even factor in because of limited edition runs.

You also have to account for the fact that extreme resale prices aren't reflected in this because those values aren't going to Adidas.

tell me that the kanye effect had nothing to do with it

dude literally made adidas cool again singlehandedly. (well adidas has been dropping great shoes as well NMD's EQT's etc)

Ye followed the corporate timeline and blueprint of the air Jordan two.
Like any real smart corporation looking to emulate and compete with the current top seller who was nike.
He may have gotten sonned't by designers.
Yet it all was an investment that paid off.
As all his shoes were a hit at every shoe company and he followed the blueprint to his current success. That is how you reverse engineer a successful cimpa y. By doing MARKET RESEARCH!!!

Originally, Adidas was the largest global brand. So, for years they fell off and this is a resurgence from boost. Which they needed and no other shoe company tried to really find a real rival to nike air and the iconic air bubble. So finally a shoe company has their own version of nike air and the iconic air bubble. we are seeing the same type of uptick in sales. That nike got from the creation of nike air and the air bubble. So right now, I look at it as Adidas has done the impossible and got their version of air with boost. So, now it is interesting and i am willing to see what else they can do with boost.

:yeshrug:

I've been seeing somewhat of the opposite. Nike is holding on in the "athletic market" because of their shoes that are worn casually the non-athlete, non-hypebeast crowd.

Adidas has better performing shoes for the people who are actually hooping. The Kyrie 3 is Nike's best seller, but those things will trash your knees. Many people believe that the pair that Kyrie himself wears actually has a full length Zoom setup while the regular versions only have phylon with a small Zoom pouch in the back. The price is what is keeping those competitive though and the PG's are also benefitting from a lower price point.

When you get into any of the mid tier signature models that is where Adidas is way ahead.
Crazy Explosive: 140$
Harden's: 140$
D Rose 7/8: 140$

These are much better models than anything Nike has in this price range. You have to get up to the Kobe's (dropped at 160$, NXT's 200$) or Flyknit Hyperdunks(160$) to get similar performance as those Adidas models.
