earnest question

anyone got any ideas of coaching strategies and tactics that can undermine a good high volume 3pt shooting squad?!

other than out 3 pointing them, obviously... if no, then shyt may be fonky lol. Hopefully they dont start panicking

Leave the worse shooter open and hope he doesn't break an NBA record on you

Yeah something like this, the cap amount can be argued but this is the direction the league should head towards. It makes teams think more about every three point attempt they take and makes the shot even more valuable.

I would say keep the cap through regulation and eliminate it for OT games

Its crazy to me that baseball a league that's been around forever it seems and was so staunch to change anything for like 80,90 years adopted. Remember when there was no interleague games? Or only 4 teams made the playoffs? No DH in the NL? The defensive shift?, no pitch count?

All these adjustments made the game better

Yet NBA just sits back idly and adds a play in or creates a wack cup

The Celtics are the new Spurs where the team takes on the personality of its leader and like Duncan, Tatum is as interesting as bottled water.

the issues with the players are a deeper issue we have with players generally being too media savvy. For a league that relies on players being damn near like wrestlers, that hurts.
Aside from Shaq who does this apply to? Sure Rodman, Draymond, Oakley types but they never carried the league in terms of interest. Jordan, Kobe, Bron, Magic were all media savvy. Kareem and Bird were straight anti-social.

Exactly.

Put a cap on 10 per quarter until the last 5 minutes of the game.

NAH JUST MAKE A GAME CAP.

IF A TEAM WANTS TO RUN
THROUGH THEIR CAP IN 2 QUARTERS
SO BE IT.

10 THREES A QUARTER
WOULD BE TOO MANY THREES ANYWAY
AND TEAMS WOULD STILL SHOOT
40-50 THREES A GAME.

YOU CASUALS DONT UNDERSTAND
MISSED 3PS EQUAL LONG REBOUNDS
WHICH HELPS THE OTHER TEAM
GET INTO TRANSITION MAKING IT
HARDER TO SET YOUR HALF COURT DEFENSE.

YOU SCORE A 2P IT SLOWS THE GAME DOWN
AND GIVES YOU A BETTER OPPORTUNITY
TO STOP THE OPPOSING TEAM
FROM SCORING SO SOME
OF THOSE THREES FROM THE BUCKS
NEVER HAPPEN.

First off, me of all people being a casual is :dead:

But in theory, yeah...in some situations missed 3PA = Long rebound = Easier scoring opportunity

But I just went back through the PBP. 10 of the Bucks 17 made 3s came in the 2nd half when they blew the game open and only two of them were off missed 3s. They actually had more 3s made in transition off turnovers and missed 2 pointers than missed 3s.

I’m not even arguing that going 5-32 is good or that they shouldn’t have put more effort into getting easier shots in the paint. It was a terrible game from OKC. But I’m also being real about it, teams that are hitting a high volume of 3s usually win for a reason. If you’re getting outscored by 30+ points from the 3-pt line it’s an uphill battle to win, I don’t see how that’s a controversial take

Seems that the NBA average of FGA's per game for teams is about 89 or 90

I would say that no more than half of a team's FGA's should be threes at the most.

That would put the cap around 40-45
