First off, me of all people being a casual is
But in theory, yeah...in some situations missed 3PA = Long rebound = Easier scoring opportunity
But I just went back through the PBP. 10 of the Bucks 17 made 3s came in the 2nd half when they blew the game open and only two of them were off missed 3s. They actually had more 3s made in transition off turnovers and missed 2 pointers than missed 3s.
I’m not even arguing that going 5-32 is good or that they shouldn’t have put more effort into getting easier shots in the paint. It was a terrible game from OKC. But I’m also being real about it, teams that are hitting a high volume of 3s usually win for a reason. If you’re getting outscored by 30+ points from the 3-pt line it’s an uphill battle to win, I don’t see how that’s a controversial take
THEY WENT 1-17 FROM
THE THREE IN THE FIRST HALF
AND IT WAS A ONE PT GAME AT HALFTIME.
COMMON SENSE SAYS ABANDON
THE THREE AT THAT POINT.
