Correct me if I’m wrong, but are you saying the 3pt shot has been in the league since the 60s? The 3pt shot was added in the 1979-80 season.

I should of said basketball in general. It was in various leagues before the NBA finally adopted it.

Once the screen floor tech is ready for primetime, they could do this in an innovative way.

After a team hits the limit in the quarter, they could remove the line from their side of the court.

Another idea would be to increasingly push the line back on a tier system. After you make 5 it goes back further and further and so on.

That might be why Silver is saying it might take a while before they do anything with the line. Gotta wait until they can dynamically adjust it digitally on the floor

I wouldn't have a problem with all the 3's if defenders weren't handicapped and illegal screens weren't flat out ignored. Bring back hand checking and calling illegal screens and it would probably do a lot to help.

Realistically the only things they can do without drastic changes is allow hand checking, calling illegal screens and be looser on the freedom of movement. Honestly that would help though

I was watching the nba cup whatever yesterday atrocious, thunder were like 4 for 25 or whatever and kept chucking.

Yet hartenstein was getting easy buckets but they rarely went to him.

Yeah something like this, the cap amount can be argued but this is the direction the league should head towards. It makes teams think more about every three point attempt they take and makes the shot even more valuable.

I would say keep the cap through regulation and eliminate it for OT games
