I wouldnt be mad at someone having a statham movie. But he doesnt have a certified classic. I loved crank and transporter though.

Surprised nobody other than me has mentioned heat. I guess you could say its not an action film exactly but the shootout/hiest scene is an all time great.

Surprised no fast and furious love. Ff5 and 6 are classics for me.

I was going to put heat on my list but it got nudged out

From the first chase scene I was done. I got a soft spot for realism. I understand most action movies always gotta have a bit of magic to make sure the hero makes it through, but Dredd hid that magic well. I can't think of too many action movies where I didn't do the :shaq2: at least once and Dredd is on that short list. I consider the whole Fast and Furious franchise comedy not action.

Dredd is dope. Love it. It's just all around solid from top to bottom

Is The Raid the most overrated movie on this site? :wtf:

Starting to look that way. Maybe cause it's still sort of new and fresh in peoples minds they are hyping it. I'll have to see for myself though. I remember people hyped Ninja Assasin when it came out as the greatest shyt, now it's barely mentioned. Same with Ong Bak.

Man, if you put Hard Boiled at the top of your action list I think you'll definitely dig it, it's got that same quality where the camera work really gets into and supports the fight choreography and they're doing something different with every scene, plus the director said Hard Boiled is one of his biggest inspirations.

:gladbron:For real!

:salute:I gotta watch this one with my boys. One of them was hyping Raid 2 last week and now everyone on here is. I think I may have been sleeping too long on these movies. I already have them downloaded and everything, just never sat down to watch yet.

Breh the second one's cool but the director tried too hard to pay tribute to Hong Kong ganster flicks with a unnecessarily complicated plot.
The first film tho :ohlawd: Mix Die Hard, Warrior King and Hard Boiled in a pot and this is what it looks like. Even the hood rat kids at the cinema were watching silently like :lupe:

I've never seen it in anyone's top 10 list ever except this thread. It's not even a top 50 action movie.. top 100? ok but top 10? :what:

Idk the age group of people posting here but mostly teens love this movie it's more like watching a video game then watching a movie. There is no plot, no character development, nothing.

The 2 on 1 fight scene was cool but the rest of the movie is :trash:

:birdman: So, what, those action sequences were run of the mill, Steven Segal straight to dvd quality? Come on, there was stuff in that film I've never seen done before. As for the story telling it's an action movie, the action tells the story, if you see a good kung fu fight the choreography and the rhythm of the fight function as narrative.

Oh and character development? :heh: Be realistic, Predator, Commando and Under Siege are all legit top 10s, but the closest they get to developing a character is the predator laugh. The Raid doesn't need all that set up because you already know the score going in, good guys vs bad, just sit back and enjoy the aggressive content.
