I posted this for the ppl going through the same shyt but won't speak out about it. This thread isn't about using or stopping its about sharing how drugs and the laws around them ruin lives from a white perspective on a black site.

Thx to all who have shown me love and support. If anyone wants to talk about their drug problems to a person who won't define them by their use my PM is always open

The law antagonizes blacks even when they aren't selling thousands of dollars worth of drugs in a day.

I understand what you mean, being a victim of drug laws but you made yourself a target by doing the crime, black people are a target regardless of if they are doing dirt or not.

Cops run up on black people in hopes that they make a hit.

They only ran up on you when they knew it was a sure thing.

Right fully so, and I agree with certain pockets of your story, but I can' quite figure out how to properly address it, because it seems like you're trying to negate the black experience, in America.
We need to get off this and look at the bigger picture. Lyndon B Johnson said it perfectly, and I will paraphrase. Once the govt has convinced us to fight amongst ourselves its easy as hell for them to come thru and fukk us over. There are racial inequities in the system but I think they are secondary to class issues by a long shot.

I know, I was just saying. A lot of black people hear white people bytching and reflexively go "b-b-b-but wat about us?" Wen we all should be looknig at all the systematic forces working against everybody and pointing fingers appropriately. A poor white drug addict has zero power or impact on the avg black person's life and prob faces a lot of the same barriers we do. Not all but def some big ones.

Thread is dope.
As someone whose been personally affected by drug laws and all that it entails (not myself
but my immediate family...).
I can say that it's truly bullshyt and the prison system doesn't seem to be around to rehabilitate
and create "productive" members of society.
In a way it seems to make better criminals especially when you get that
"Scarlet letter" as you've stated because it limits opportunities considerably once you get out.

Damn. Respect for sharing.

I believe that drug laws were created with a racist mindset, and happen to affect the working class more than anything else because they have the least opportunity and the least amount of options when it comes to navigating the pitfalls of the legal system.

Why, I'm a college graduate and have except for a few years held down legal jobs? It's just much harder to find employment with drug charged that aren't simple possession. Moving to Chicago for a corporate job in 2 weeks. Drugs don't define a person and there is actually a correlation between high intelligence and drug use..... Interesting
hmm somebody hired you?
interesting
