Fans are desperately waiting for “The Winds of Winter,” the sixth book in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels where HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is based. This is because, the book has been delayed for years and while George RR Martin could have published it earlier, the author chose to release his other books instead.
Just last month, he released “Fire & Blood,” the 700-page Targaryen history, and it achieved huge success worldwide. This only proved that even if the fans are already frustrated for the delayed publishing of “The Winds of Winter,” they still support George RR Martin.
In any case, the 70-year-old author clearly knows about his fans’ disappointments and anger over his failure to finish “TWOW” on time so in his latest
blog post where he expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support for the “Fire & Blood,” he also took the opportunity to apologize to the fans who have been so long for the “The Winds of Winter.”
After saying his “Thank You” to his supporters and people who helped him publish his latest book “Fire & Blood,” he wrote, “I know you want Winds, and I am going to give it to you.”
"I am delighted that you stayed with me for Fire and Blood as well. Your patience and unflagging support mean the world to me,” he added. “I am back in my fortress of solitude, and back in Westeros. It won’t be tomorrow, and it won’t be next week, but you will get the end of A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE.”
“The Winds of Winter” is the next book after the “A Dance With Dragons” that was released in 2011. After “TWOW” there is still another book to complete the novels that were adapted on TV via the “Game of Thrones” series. Meanwhile, the historical-fantasy drama is also concluding next year as season 8 has been set to the series’
final season.
