You can't be serious. Whats happened to all those dudes who "Learned how to code"? Most didnt get jobs or got recently laid off. They sure arent getting hired today over someone with a CS degree. "Learn a Trade" is just the new meme. Trades are a tiny industry with low turnover in the areas that actually pay well. Some like auto mechanics don't even pay well. Drop 1000 new plumbers in a large city like NYC and payrates will drop, despite the plumbers union gatekeeping half of them from joining. You do realize the construction industry is far from booming and not forcasted to any time soon, so there goes your HVAC and Electrician recommendations.

Everyone looking for instant gratification rather than putting the work in with a solid plan/ realistic goals to achieve. Ask someone what they want in life, and then ask them how are they going to make it happen. Most will not have a plan or the plan isn’t well thought out. Growing up is realizing you have to do shyt you don’t wanna do to go further in your field, but also hard work is just that without a solid plan/goals.

One of my friends is a tailor but he has a ranch in South Texas. He's actually giving up the business because it's taking too much time from his family and the people he's surrounded with can be sketchy, fast money etc.

He told me he's going to focus on being a rancher and make a meat processing facility in the town he's in and go from there. Happy for him.

Some non conventional ways of living are better than the "American Dream" we're seeking.

He already has money and is just setting up a different business than the one he's in. He's absolutely living the typically American dream

Working used to damn near guarantee you a woman without a ton of miles on her, a house, a car, and other necessities. Not the case today. The people that run society now seem to not understand why men work. You think men throughout history woke up early and busted their ass to get fukk all out of it? That's not how things work,

Yes, it is. People gotta stop using a LA/NY lens for the entire country. 60k will have you living comfortable in most of the country, specifically the entire Midwest, south, northwest etc.

A lot of dudes are losers who are socially retarded and have no aspirations beyond living just enough to afford rent and videogames. They can't talk to women, don't want to buy houses, don't go to bars, and largely refrain from a lot of things their fathers and grandfathers excelled at. A lot of men complain about working as if your only choice is Amazon or retail. What happened to the understanding that certain degrees guaranteed good jobs and lives. Or that certain trades guaranteed the same. We have a massive trades deficit in the country where a lot of people (specifically men) are not learning trades despite high demand for well paying jobs as electricians/craftsmen/etc. Not to mention HVAC. You can't argue this is about a lack of opportunity, it's about a lack of drive. And I will always believe a lot of that has to do with parents not raising their sons with standards or expectations. That may have worked 40 years ago when the most half assed dude could fall into a good factory job but that's not reality anymore. You have to compete.

Essentially! But men don't wanna compete anymore. But we could say that's a byproduct of being raised in a single parent household by their mom. The testosterone ain't pumping like it should be
