Most people here will admit that for news, leaks and community, Neogaf was unparrelled. Even when banned, you would lurk for info. It was an amazing aggregator in that regard.

But at the same time there was alot of bullshyt behind closed doors and do not get it twisted. Alot of those dudes were just as low key racist as white supremists.

It's like recently I've been reading alot about British abolitionists. They may have fought for the abolition of slavery, fantastically hard at times, but they still had the same backwards ideas about people of color that the slave owners did.

Neogaf SJW were alot like that at times.

Yeah. I haven't really posted here much but I was a frequent poster back when it was the arcade room on sohh.

The coli has matured into its own thing now, but same shyt goes down. Courtdog is still the biggest xbox stan, mowgli is is still Sonning nikkas and the discussion is far more sports and fighting game focused than somewhere like gaf.

It's not a replacement for neo gaf but nowhere will be. Id advise black gaf refugees to use a mixture of here, slaent and twitter to fill the void.

After looking at this thread to get the info, I feel this is not a big deal. Here's why.

The problem with the Arcadium is that no obscure games get covered, but the AAA shyt is on the front grounds. That's one thing gaming side had that drew me in. I ended up with some hidden gems because of Gaf before it went to shyt.

Would not be surprised if indie devs suffered from this fallout. Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight, Axiom Verge, Transistor, Hyper Light Drifter, The Banner Saga, Shadowrun (Harebrained Scheme series), Cave Story, Iji, and so many others. I would have never heard of them or given them a chance had it not been for GAF. Cosmic Star Heroine? Was made aware of its Kickstarter campaign on GAF and backed it. I don't check out GameSpot, IGN, Polygon, Waypoint or whatever.
