Honestly, the industry should have never gone public. The writing was on the wall when E3 opened up to everybody instead of gaming insiders. there was a lot of weird posters and things on GAF, but the site wasn't as bad as people think. some of the mods were trash. and before the election and before he made some post about people whining, GAF wasn't going for racism like that. posters would say slick shyt but got banned quick and the black culture thread had good people.

a lot of the shyt I see comes from them being overly strict and not being an open forum, which was a good thing. you can see alt-right ideologies everywhere online. I ain't into that. ain't tryna discuss it. and when people did want to speak on controversial shyt, they were pushed to have sources and credible ones, and not some page they found on the 4th page of google. it just got worse before the inauguration.
