Both, I legit made a few attempts to actually post over the years. Was a member since 08 ...but one thing I hate is dancing around my own grown ass opinion and walking on eggshells.

Even if I was lurking the black folk OT, I never actually felt welcome to post.

I feel you on that, I bounced out a few threads and caught a few bans for snapping. but that groupthink might hit ya if that opinion is on the opposite side of the few things that site doesn't like jokes/quick comments about.

lmao, nah, you should have came into that thread. they contributed some of the best shyt to the forum and were quick to hit racists with links, books, videos, etc for education. the discord is still live, too.

The problem with the Arcadium is that no obscure games get covered, but the AAA shyt is on the front grounds. That's one thing gaming side had that drew me in. I ended up with some hidden gems because of Gaf before it went to shyt.

we need to have a talk with the mods on this site and top tier Arcadium posters like @Ciggavelli @Fatboi1 @Kamikaze Revy @Rain and @GoldenGlove maybe we can improve the Arcadium and start talking more bout those little games... as of right now i don't know any other gaming website that will be the replacement for GAF

The arcadium is fine overall. People complain about the stannery when their favorite console is being clowned, but are perfectly fine with it when the (filthy) tables are turned. I don’t go to neogaf for anything so I guess I don’t know what I’m missing. I can tell you the main reason I come to the arcadium is for the posters and not so much the content. The mods should be a little more active IMO but they do a good job overall.

Gaf mods try to lock and deleted all threads mentioning it but as word spread throughout the forum and on Twitter.
After a while, a mass exodus of mods, admins, users both longtime and recent, people asking for pemabans even thought there were no mods left to ban anyone.
With no mods to police the forum, it turned into utter chaos to a point where it had to be shut down.

The coli has matured into its own thing now, but same shyt goes down. Courtdog is still the biggest xbox stan, mowgli is is still Sonning nikkas and the discussion is far more sports and fighting game focused than somewhere like gaf.

It's not a replacement for neo gaf but nowhere will be. Id advise black gaf refugees to use a mixture of here, slaent and twitter to fill the void.

Or you could just play your games more instead of just talking about them. Whatever.

As games become more and more platforms, discussion of them is going to become more insular. There will be less big breaking news and industry insights will become of the more timid variety. Think the million and one destiny OTs.

But people want this, even if the typical neogaf poster didn't. Gaf dying Is both poetic and systemic of a gaming industry that is changing rapidly.
