That record without Lebron wasn't legit though. Ingram was hurt for some of the games, then Kuzma suffered an injury and then Lonzo. Not to mention Rondo missing all those games and even Mcgee missing a few. There's nothing that can really be read from that stretch.
From the Pelicans perspective, they could assume these youngins are always hurt, but so is AD? :manny:

Thank god. Hopefully everything backfires for NO and we can get AD on a cheaper trade in the summer. The damage might be done with the young guys and Bron relationship, so a trade will need to be done regardless.

Perhaps we'd be able to trade BI and Kuz + picks for AD in the summer and then flip Zo for someone else. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with Bron and the young guys going forward. shyt, even the vets off the bench. Bron chose them and tried to flip them. We'll see :yeshrug:

Lavar was quiet up until now. Not surprised he’s speaking up now. People can hate on him but his priority is his son period. PHX would be a good spot for Zo so it’s not like Var is just throwing out a random team. He’d still be quiet if not for this recent bullsht but now he’s butthurt. Zo might get traded regardless smh.
Its kinda random if you go by his complaint of the Lakers "they've been losing for 3 years" because Phoenix is even worse. They've only cracked .500 once since 2010. Lakers are actually a winning team now and hes the starting point guard.

Fax. People make too much of the record without Bron. He hasnt been the only one injured. The Cavs and Knicks losses were inexcusable but besides that we've played hard some games and not so hard other games. Which was pretty much happening even when Bron was healthy.

Lavar likes to rant so he's always gonna have some quotes that don't make much sense. But you can get the gist of what he's saying. PHX has some good young pieces, and Lavar seems to be under the impression they like LaMelo too.

I think there's been communication between PHX and Zo's camp behind the scenes. Even that radio station in PHX was getting skeleton articles ready in anticipation of getting Zo. So Var is just saying look, Luke sucks as a coach and clearly the Lakers are Bron's team now, and Bron has been acting fake towards Zo and others so maybe Zo is better in a situation like PHX, where they are trending up in terms of the type of young talent they got, particularly Book and Ayton.

He also had a point about the Lakers having 4-5 different guys bringing the ball up the court. Obviously Bron eats first but Zo been sharing with Rondo, BI, Lance as well. Zo has made guys like Kuzma and others better, he needs the chance to do what he does best and that's run the offense and get the ball moving. In PHX he'd definitely have that chance.
