I hope people are watching Philly. No reason for the Knicks to not be COMPLETE trash next year.

It's the PERFECT opportunity. KP will be out until the 2019 calendar year. Bottom out and try and get this dude a top 3 talent next year.

Once again the Knicks were one of the worst teams in the league this season but their record ain't gonna show it.

Jesus Christ, enough of this deciding to tank in mid-January bullshyt after you already racked up 20-something wins.

Also the Timmy hate is baseless, he had a career high in pts, assist, and rebounds,

Timmy was better than expected, but he's still not worth that contract. For at around $17 million per year, The Knicks should be expecting to get at least a league average starter at the position and he's not even a top 15-20 player at either SF or SG slot. They should've signed KCP to a one year deal when it was on the table. Tim Mostly likely suited to be a sixth man off the bench. It created an unnecessary glut at the shooting guard when they had already Dotson and Lee on the roster; not to mention they started playing Frank at the two after the Mudiay trade and Burke signing.

and just stopped playing defense likely cause the knicks whole concept of defense was feed people into the middle for KP to block cause Rambis sucked.

Bullshyt. His defense sucked in Atlanta and sucked when KP was playing, too.

The only issue with that is how do you convince the 2019 Max FA to come to NY? They got enough money to get a Randle/Gordon/Jabari in 2018 and still have Max money in 2019 for a UFA if KP takes the qualifier. You got to see next year as an audition for those 2019 Max FAs. The Knicks roster has to have more talent than where they are coming from, and they got to believe this team can hold its own with the Celtics, Philly, and the Raptors.

None of those RFA guys moved the needle for their team to the point they weren't bad (or in Jabari's a high seed), because they aren't superstar talent. All of those guys could be major contributors next to superstar talent. Add KP to that and the knicks might actually become a destination for a superstar.
Well in that scenario wouldn't you have 2 max slots if u dont use it this summer and then have KP take his qualifier? That would be enticing for players to come.

Though I dont want to risk KP leaving and would rather secure him early as possible

Hit list on why Jackson should be a no go. Again, if even a quarter of that shyt is true i don’t want him anywhere near MSG. shyt would be a fukking zoo...

Also, are we positive the Suns job is better than the Hawks job?

Suns have two potential AS caliber players on the roster(Josh Jackson, Booker), with a high chance of adding another this June. Suns got a gang of picks too, they can definitely be the next version of OKC/Philly.

Brehs, if anyone is opposed to waiting until the day after the finals to start the off-season thread - let it be known.
