Playing C with an elite rim protector PF has basically turned Kanter into a quality starter who's defense is decent, his rim protection numbers are basically the best they've been in his career. His first few years in Utah he was too slow even as a C, and when they got Gobert he had started to slim down but he was entirely too slow to play PF which is what they tried to do. I don't think he ever got a fair chance in OKC since they had Adams at C and never really played him a lot with Ibaka, but playing with Porzingis can cover a lot of his problems on defense especially since he doesn't have to guard PFs who would basically keep him off the floor.
